@ zac’s mum Stretch yr arm after jab. Relieves tightness.
Do you have allergy and if yes usually what reaction.. like rashes or swelling ?MrsKiasu\" post_id=\"2025905\" time=\"1622557505\" user_id=\"43981:
Timing-wise, better don’t let your kids take the jab just before an exam, especially Compo or 作文 paper. Took my 1st dose this morning and the sore arm is no joke.
I m taking my first dose soon..
@ MKS I hv allergy & rhinitis for years. Both 1st & 2nd jabs no severe reactions. Just arm slight sore at the injection point, slight tiredness and headache for the night. Next day no effects le
Hubby was the only one had chills for both jabs. He said with effects shows the vaccine working well in our body.
I used to have allergic rhinitis since young till my 20s.
At the vaccination center today, I noted the cautions (please declare & inform the staff) were for those with history of anaphylactic reactions. They have removed the cautions for asthma sufferers, as well as for less severe degree of allergies. (They also barred those who have visited Changi Airport, Jem, Westgate etc. recently).
IMO, the younger & healthier you are, the stronger the side effects of the Covid vaccine will be . My age group friends (40-45) all commented their sore arm + fever (done with chills) was quite strong and lasted at least 2 days. I had to have it in my writing arm becos the non-writing arm already has a keloid scar from that BCG vaccination which we were compelled (by MOE/MOH) to take in adolescence. Grrrrr.
I dunno the younger kids age 12 will be even worse or not. I don’t envy the current P6 being the Guinea pigs. -

My only & greatest concern is Shanghai Fosun Pharma which signed an agreement with BioNTech boss last Mar is set to manufacture and distribute BioNTech B162b2 vaccine in Greater China, including HK, Macao and Taiwan. Hearsay the https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202105/1223013.shtml! OMG, is that good or bad for us? :yikes:
Actually, I’ve been hopeful & waiting for the manufacturing facility to be positioned in SG since last year when CCS signaled its negotiations (tho w/o details). Was disappointed late last year when 1st shipments of vaccine arrived but neigbour ing countries getting Sinovac & what else elsewhere. I guess tho our SG team can work very hard for it but other push & shove with politics & competition can edge us out, I thot..zeit\" post_id=\"2023608\" time=\"1620726929\" user_id=\"171271:
But, this pandemic will last for another 4+ years, depending on how fast this virus mutates. :gloomy:
Level of vigilance and vaccine coverage ain't uniform across the globe; some are more lax than us, some took the supposedly traditional vaccines and might be infected again if come into contact with more infectious mutants.
Always good to have vaccine security & capacity & capability within our country which is a regional pharma hub. Better late than never.
Bravo! S’pore Team for snagging the Pfizer BioNTech deal. Things do change as mutation occurs around the world. New vaccines will be needed as old ones becomes less effective towards new strains. We hv to continue to be highly vigilant, as we depend on an open economy.
Having our own vaccine mfg plant in SG is definitely a great advantage in difficult covid times like this. We don’t hv to scramble for vaccines like we had to for masks when we had no masks making machines then. Really agree - 不用看别人的眼色!
So far, China's relying on own homegrown killed-virus vaccines-- Sinovac and Sinopharm--for its sneaky lil vaccine diplomacy around the world, especially in SEA.
Alamak, now that they can manufacture BioNTech B162b2 vaccine at a SUPER LARGE SCALE, I'm sure they will MAKE & DONATE the excess Made-in-China versions to some of our neighbours like Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines who have been relying partially on their 51% vaccine which couldn't apparently prevent the recent mutant flare-ups in some pockets of the population.
Singapore's BioNTech regional Apac hub is supposed to cover SEA. Wonder if any one of our ASEAN bros will still need to order any stocks from us, if China can easily ship hundreds of millions to them, FOR FREE, before our plant is even operational in 2023?!
Meanwhile, the 51% brand has been approved by WHO just a while ago. Looks like some private healthcare group in Singapore will soon be collecting the 200,000 doses from the government to sell to the pro-PRC vaccine people--just to appease the new SCs/PRs. Hope they're protected against infection breakthroughs in the 5th or 6th wave.

Talking about the interval, I agree you'd better make sure the second dose appt is in between the mid-Aug PSLE Oral and mid-Sept PSLE LC exams, cos they could get fever, chills, body aches and headache. Younger persons seem to get these more than the old folks.

If the 12 yo starts his booking in last week of Jun/jab in first week Jul, then he will get their second dose after PSLE Oral.
First jab just injection site pain. Subside usually within 24 hrs. No need panadol at all.
Second jab got chills until had to pull out my winter wear and long pants to wear. Before sleeping, drank the whole pot of barley. Woke up with slight fever in the middle of the night. Popped 2 panadols.
Day 2 whole body ached, must stick Salonpas on shoulders and pop 3rd panadol. Injection site pain for 3 days; couldn't lift up whole arm at all. -
Many including myself had more discomfort after the 2nd jab.
It is the same material being injected into us for the 2 jabs. Why our body reacted more after the 2nd jab? -

SINGAPORE: More than 26,000 students have signed up for COVID-19 vaccinations on the first day of registration.
This is more than half of the number of students who have been invited to register for vaccinations so far, Education Minister Chan Chun Sing said on Tuesday (Jun 1) on Channel 5’s News Tonight.
