Thanks for all the sharing. So it’s a definite no for correction tape so we better wean them off in the next few months. The kids are so used to writing in gel pens so will stick to it since it’s not explicitly stated that it’s not allowed. Think there will be significant difference in writing speed if I get him to change to ballpoint now.

The school will likely assign various pieces of practice/homework for revision during this period. If you want full tests, previous year prelims (i.e. 2019) or some of the EPH mock exam books at Popular are also an option.

To some extent, there is not much of a need to keep doing full exams from a testing stamina/managing time perspective (kids have probably done plenty of them by this stage). If there are any subsections of tests or certain topics in math/science the child struggles with you can find some specific practice to try and boost these areas (assessment book, etc).

At some point the kids are who they are, and there's only so much we (or they) can do to get them ready, boost the odds of hitting whatever their target is, etc. Adequate rest and a positive attitude are also important for the this stretch from prelim to PSLE. Good luck!

We had no time to finish all the papers before prelims, there were a few papers undone even after Psle. Bear in mind that quality is better than quantity.

If your child is a speed doer, perhaps can try the previous years top school papers. Or try to redo the questions he had gotten wrong.

Same. We also had no time to finish all the papers before prelims. We chose some of the top schools to complete (e.g. MGS, Henry Park, RGS, Nanyang).
The most important point is to do time practice about a month before exams.
Example: Use about 40mins to do science MCQ. A good amount of time is needed to analyse the qns as the answers are very close. Some students cannot finish open-ended questions as they spent too must time if they are struck in one question. The most important is to attempt all the questions. Skip the questions that are too difficult for you & come back when you have attempt all the questions.

Maths Paper 1 is also about accuracy and time practice as you need to complete booklet A and B.

Create a file for each of the 4 subjects and file all those questions that the child has done wrongly for the paper. Example: Tear off the page of the question paper with the corrections and file it in. One week before the exams, flip through the file and re-do the corrections and see whether the child still gets it wrong. It is helpful as students do not waste time to find the questions that they have done wrongly.
