do not laugh. Is real, not funny

We already just experienced our first \"covid Delta variant mutation puasa\", from May 16 to June 13 or June 21, this year (2021)

We may need to differentiate between those fully vaccinated and those taken the first dose only.

For Bukit Merah cluster, most are FULLY vaccinated.

            Correction here: https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/health/some-cases-in-bukit-merah-market-cluster-had-queued-at-popular-stores-for-30

\"Citing the example of the Bukit Merah View cluster, he said 32 per cent of cases have been vaccinated, but 50 per cent have yet to receive the vaccine. The rest of the cases have either received just one dose of the vaccine, or have not yet derived the full protection afforded by the vaccination's two doses.\"

However, I am surprised at his analysis and conclusion to this statistic though.
I am all for the vaccination and I am not an anti-vaxxer but how does this statistic support this statement?

\"This does support the view that vaccination does protect you and reduce the risk of you getting infected, as opposed to those who are not vaccinated,\" he said.

I hearsay that the dozens of fully vaccinated people in Singapore who nevertheless became infected all took the Sinovac vaccine.

It does not. Those statistics support the view that vaccine effectiveness against mild or asymptomatic infection of delta is closer to 0%. :slapshead:

But cannot say. Otherwise people might decide not to get vaccinated. :siam:

Nobody knows, since there is still the T-cells. Maybe should also ask immunologists instead of just epidemiologists. :siam:

Just thinking if I get flu vaccination, I still get sniffers or asymptomatic but normally I wld not be hitting the doc if I can rest it out but with covid, it’s more virulent. I may not know I’m a carrier & before I get tested, I’ve unwittingly spread to ppl ard me? This covid is putting all of us on tethers. I’ll revert to the extra vigilance like last year & go out less. Lots to busy myself at homefront. Just wait out maybe ano 2-3 years for safe travel. European bloc opening up with vaccination certificates sounds tempting but let’s watch how it pans out.

                        Some minister was joking right?

A family of 4/6 eat together at same table at home all the time need to sit in 2s at the restaurant.

Like that we need to stretch our hand for 1 metre to pass the dishes.

                        Great for optics...

                        How does that reduce spread?

                        Isn't it wayang all along?

I think this is not about transmission, but about policing. It will be hard for the safe distancing ambassadors to have to check addresses for all such groups. Also, others will feel they can get away with sitting in a larger group if there is no ambassador around, or they are prepared to lie. Overall, there will likely be more sitting in larger groups even if technically not allowed.

Agree that it is for easy policing & oversight.

When you configure tables for two, frankly, it really doesn't matter if 1 of the company of 4 is a boyfriend from another household. The SDA can just close one eye. After all, they allow Valentine seating, right? 😂

There could also be cases where grandparents take grandkids from another household out for a meal, while their parents are WFH. You can't fine them for sitting adjacent to one another.

I think the inconvenience is deliberately introduced so that large families of 5-8 will think twice about dining-in.

Those who have not been vaccinated, or do not wish to be vaccinated, should really dine at home until mid-July when most people have received their first dose.
