Just curious, anyone has any idea what RI's median for most subjects are? I heard they aren't as high... wonder if RGS set the paper too ''easy'' for the girls hence the high median?

      Last year 2020,

for IP4 students in both (RI and RGS) -

do IP4 students take the same, common identical exam,

      - at IP4 mid year exam and

      - at IP4 year end Promotional exam

In below following 6 subjects :-

      - English

      - Maths

      - Pure Physics

      - Pure Chem

      - Pure Bio

      - Higher Chinese,

so as to \"standardize \" marking of their IP4 students' exan scripts on a common ground basis , to choose their IP5 (RI) subject combination ?

no common exam, at least not to my knowledge. DD1 felt that RI boys' standard seems to be higher at the same GPA band...

In my daughter's time (6 yrs ago), the Y4 students from both schools took a common English, Maths and Chem paper, midway through Y4, I think, because the boys didn't have normal lessons for the 2nd semester. Not sure if that's the case now. That was feedback for the teachers in both schools, and also for the JC teachers to know what to expect. I don't recall that there was any public info comparing the 2 schools. Anecdotally, the boys were supposed to be generally stronger in Maths and the girls in English. Which is not surprising - I think most people would predict that anyway!

DD1 said they no longer have common test as it is too troublesome to co-ordinate exam schedule, marking etc. RI's teaching pace is also different, due to their gap semester, so they may have covered topics that RGS has not covered. But general feeling is that RGS papers are easier than RI and median higher.

Hi everyone! We are Rachel and Calyss, two students in the Humanities and Social Sciences (hssrp) program in RGS. We are conducting a quick survey to find out the perceptions of Singapore secondary school students, parents, and teachers towards the implementation of restorative justice in Singapore schools (as well as current disciplinary measures), and we need YOU to help us out! if you are unfamiliar with the concept, do not worry as we will give some background information later on! this survey will take less than 5 minutes of your time, and do help us share it with your other friends and family as well!

No personal or identifying information, such as your names, schools or emails will be collected, and all responses provided will be kept strictly confidential. Thank you!

                    https://tinyurl.com/restorativejusticehssrp2021
The survey is absolutely well-crafted!! šŸ‘ Hope the data you collect these 3 weeks or so will validate your hypothesis for the July final submission. ķ™”ģ“ķŒ… !!

                      Hi Parents,

Pls share/advise what is expected in Sec1 and Sec2. What are the subject combinations they are supposed to choose. And on what basis.
                      Thanks in advance.

I don't have current info, so someone else will have to give you details. But Sec 1-2 don't have subject combinations - everyone takes the same set of subjects, and it's pretty much the same as all other schools in Singapore. Any differences will be minor, and more in name and substance. The differences will mainly be HMT vs MT, and possibly the additional of a 3rd lang or special programme.
