It makes a difference which vaccine tutor is taking, be it S or P/M. Our family members might transmit the virus to the tutor who has less antibodies! We're already eating in pairs outside since Monday. She must beware...but still better than those unvaccinated tutors.

People who are vaccinated against Covid-19 with BioNTech’s vaccine were found to have \"substantially higher\" levels of antibodies than those who received Sinovac’s jab, the South China Morning Post reported on Saturday (June 19), citing a Hong Kong study.

Some who received the Sinovac vaccine might need a third booster shot as well, the newspaper said, citing lead researcher Benjamin Cowling, an epidemiologist with the University of Hong Kong (HKU).

Are you guys requiring your private tutors to swab with ART before going to your place for tuition?

Surprised my tutor WA me the ART negative result image. I didnt ask for it. In any case, we can't even prove whose result that belongs to. LOL.

My tutor wanna take S. Not sure if you guys are asking for tutors' vaccination status update or will that be too rude?
Your tutor proactively sent u the negative result, which is good. As others have said, vaccination status is irrelevant becos it doesn’t guarantee no transmission.

Did tutor actually go take the ART (home kit??) just to show parents that she is negative? Wow…

I won’t be insisting that tutors show me -ve result every time before they come over. What if they also insist we all show -ve result before she’s willing to step into the house? It cuts both ways leh.

Ytd DS followed the new recommended guidelines of no turning on the aircon (he reminded the tutor himself). Used fan instead for better ventilation. Also thanked the tutor for the snack but said will eat later after she goes home.

Kept hearing MTF and HC lamenting about vaccine shipment delays. Why doesn't the US donate some to Singapore? Why?! 😢

... Is it cos US thinks we're too capable, too rich, too close to China, or not relevant at all?

Certainly the first 2, not sure about the rest. Singapore's vaccination rate is the 3rd highest in Asia (just checked, we are behind Mongolia and Maldives), and certainly we have proven capable, and are rich compared to others.

Taiwan is a special case, I believe. For the rest, let's not begrudge them vaccinations from wherever they can get them.

On second thoughts, it is a blessing that we have the resources to procure directly from Europe. Many places, including Taiwan, have received vaccine donations unneeded/rejected by rich nations and worse, are nearing their expiry dates!

At least Singapore gets vaccines fresh from the plants. Excess vaccines may not be good, if no one wants to take.

As long as the vaccines haven't expired, why should they mind? It's wasteful if no-one uses them. Better that they are put to use than discarded.

Because the delta variant is able to spread from person to person more easily, experts say those who have not had the vaccine remain especially vulnerable.

\"This is the most dangerous phase of the pandemic coming up for people who are unvaccinated,\" the director of the Mayo Clinic's Vaccine Research Group in Rochester, Minnesota, said.

Government said those who choose S will not be eligible for the Vaccine Injury Financial Assistance Programme (Vifap) should they develop any adverse reactions. So why choose S? :scratchhead:
