I am new here. I am planning to register Nan Chiau primary school in 2024 under 2B.
Our dialet is not Hokkien therefore We unable to join Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan. May I know what are the steps I need to do?

Go to nearest CC to enquire on volunteering and joining as GRL. But you must at least be <1km to qualify for ballot either 2B or 2C.

Hi regarding GRL, should we declare and be honest with our intention, ie joining GRL for phase 2b or we shouldnt?

Also, what are the chances to become GRL? is it very tough like top 5% of volunteers?

Thanks.[/quote]1. I think most people are cognizant that new GRL wannabes, especially those with young families, are usually there for the 2B privilege. Hence, no need to hide or smoke if asked.

2. The answer to your second questions depends on where you live and how well connected you are. Some constituencies have many applicants, some have none. The former can be tough (or face a long wait) while the latter can be a shoo-in after a short period of observation.

The school i want to apply for is in a GRC different from where I stay. Although the school is within 1km from me. I am aiming for phase 2b as 2c run a risk of ballot.

School is within 1km from me but in WP GRC. Im staying in PAP GRC.

Qns: Can i still apply to be involved in WP GRC given my address? Appreciate some advice. Thanks.

Can you be involved in another constituency as a grassroots leader, other than the one you live in?
The answer is yes, with a but.
However, that shouldn't be the question you should be asking, as the answer is irrelevant to what you need.

Under Phase 2B of Primary One registrations, eligible grassroots leaders will be able to register for their preferred schools within the constituencies that they reside in.

1) How to find out the primary schools that are within my GRC? I'm under East Coast GRC.
2) Am I in time to apply if I'm registering my child in the 2025 exercise? My child born in 2019.
3) What would I need to know or do once I get selected to join the GRC? What kinds of activities?

Your residence GRC is different from school GRC, so you are NOT eligible for that school
