I also have a maid who is sort of underutilized.

I sent my 5-year-old to childcare so basically, she is free to clean the house and wash our clothes during the day. But she cooks for us and helps feed and bathe my boy and do the dishes lah. The extra pair of hands does help since my boi is very active.

I have a timetable for my maids from the beginning e.g., daily tasks, weekly tasks, duties when we go out, etc. I give her the timetable in hard copy.

So I will expect the daily and weekly tasks to be done instead of asking her every time. Sometimes, she slags on the weekly tasks and after a few reminders, she gets a pep talk. Utility bills-wise, I find it useful to show the maid the bills and educate her on how to reduce usage.

        Dear all,

Looking for transfer helper, mainly to do household work.
Do let me know if anyone is letting go of your helper.
Prepared to wait till December 2021.

        Thanks in advance

The abundance of details appeals to me. The only thing that worries me is if they enter under a different name because there aren’t any photos in some circumstances. I simply wish there was a location where we could learn more about possible maids without having to rely on individuals who are only interested in helping us. So many mismatched parties or maids arrive with no intention of performing the tasks for which they were recruited. Craft a Maid Agency is one of the mature agencies in Singapore and they are not experts to find the best maids but also give strong training sessions to meet their customers’ demands.

            Appreciate advice, pls.

I am in the process of renewing the contract for my dad’s helper.
I have to convert the return airfare to cash.
May I ask what is the reasonable amount for the return airfare to Manila, pls?
            Thank you.

              Yes. Hv my own

              Hi, just sharing some findings...
I was speaking with the EA about work permit renewal (Indonesian Fdw)

EA does not charge us for the service, & there are only 2 costs:
              (1) $35 to MOM
              https://www.mom.gov.sg/passes-and-permits/work-permit-for-foreign-domestic-worker/renew-a-work-permit
              (2) insurance (depends on the amount to be insured)

EA recommends the renewal ~1 month before the expiry of current contract. & even though EA suggests that a new contract is not necessary, I'd still draft one myself (EA does Not draft on our behalf), so that salary, rest days, job scope, living conditions can be mutually agreed to in order to minimise future miscommunications

Absolutely agree. We shld always hv a contract to cover the duration of service to avoid miscomm. I do however know some EA charges for renewals.[/quote]ladies
I intend to prepare a simple word document to be signed by the employer, the helper and a witness.
In this document, I will state the terms and conditions listed in the 1st contract hold and the revision as follows etc; stating the new pay etc.
              Would this be ok, pls?

                @ starlight

You can google online for latest airfare that u’ll normally send her on & concert that to cash. Show her the amt to avoid misu’stand’g & get a separate written agreement. I always bank i to acct & this averts any miscomm or legal tassle.

I also i wld put in an annex for details of job description. Best to follow clauses that incl disputes to be arbitrated in SG Courts n jurisdiction. State clearly her off-days & home-leave after 2-year term contract. As I’m aware many Filipinos wld take their country’s practice to accord annual leave which some push to SG eyer’s for annual home leave plus air-fare. I’m also aware, particularly for Filipinos, wld bargain for Public Holidays as additional rest/off-days. So be clear of yr intent. I do not need yo go to Eympt Agencies for renewals. We can lodge renewals application on our own via MOM online to renew helper’s contract. Very straightforward. Hope all goes smoothly for you.

Yes, DW willing to renew is a good blessing. Many of my relatives’ helpers refused to renew contract on pretext of marriage or missing home to hop onto ano eyer with higher offers thro other agencies. This was found out when one DW didn’t realized the agency she approached contacted my relative for signing transfer paper.

Mine started work on 9 Sep 2021 and hence I take it that the new contract will start on 9 Sep 2021.

                        Is this correct?

When will MOM send us a letter on renewal?
