Secondary School Chinese
-
now is 2021 June one-month school holiday Term break.
Which Chinese tuition centre(s) in Singapore are available, offering reliable, effective " intensive " preparatory Secondary schools’ Higher Chinese O-level National exam prep holiday programme tuition, in
either
- Paper 1 ( focussing on zuowen essay Questions type 3, 4 & 5 )
or
- in Paper 2 "li jie wen da" section ?
Thanks -
Hi everyone,
Would like to seek assistance from the experienced parents here
My DD is sec 1 this year, and she is taking HMT. Despite PSLE score A but first CA she failed (E8) then SA1 obtain pass (C6) in her result. Is it very difficult for HMT in secondary level?
I had spoken to FT, they said that so long other subjects DD is coping well just let her continue HMT. I am worried and not sure when is appropriate to take a call to continue or dropped? I know its good if DD want to go JC route, with HMT is advantage. But now still early decide on whether to go JC / Poly.
Anyone dropped HMT before GCE'O' Level? -
Hi sunshine79,
First,
find out from your daughter’s own Secondary school :-
what is the criteria,
for her to continue with Sec 2 Higher Chinese,
based on her Sec 1 Year end October exam, this year (2021) ?
Example
In some schools,
the promotional Sec 1 HCL exam score, in order to continue proceed with Sec 2 HCL,
is
50 / 100 marks.
Hence,
If a student failed to score 50 marks overall (upon 100) ,
then this HCL student will be asked to drop back to Standard Chinese (bu-hua), in such schools.
Different Secondary schools have different promotional Higher Chinese criteria, at the end of their Sec 1 Year end exam (Sep-Oct). The rules are set by their own Chinese department.
Perhaps your daughter can
approach her own school’s Chinese HOD, to clarify about this promotional HCL (Sec 1 going up to Sec 2) criteria matter ? -

It's suitable for both CL and HCL.
There are 2 versions for each video (CL with short narration, HCL with full narration for 口头报告 practice).

[/quote]Thank you. Do you have any idea, if I were to buy it, they will issue me a username and password for the video? Feel the price quite high for only 10 topics.

However, it's only accessible for ~3-5 years. I think price wise, still ok, around the norm. The other oral assessment books in the market have ~15 topics but the topic covered in SPH's publication is more up to date (biennial release per version). Common practice seems to be sell it on Carousell after finished practicing (esp. since older versions will not be reprinted).
