Hi, does anyone know details on Raffles Science Olympiad (RSO) and SPSO, like how many questions and the scoring system, how many marks for correct, wrong or blank, if any?
There's also conflicting information on RSO, some websites say it's pitched at lower secondary but some says it's pitched at P5 level.

Singapore Primary Science Olympiad (SPSO)
In light of the COVID-19 situation and safe management measures, SPSO 2021 will consist of only the Theory round and will be held in the participants’ own primary schools. The competition this year is open to both primary 5 and primary 6 pupils in Singapore.

Hi,

The invitation letter that your child got from school will usually have a contact person. Do give that person a call to inquire about the scope and format. Or you can try contacting your child's Science teacher (though not all teachers are in the loop about competitions) or HOD Science.

My personal feeling from what my girl told me is
SPSO = Science vocabulary + logic + some science knowledge (usually within the primary syllabus)

My gal received the certificate of participation for Raffles Science Olympiad. It says Participation for outstanding achievement in the Raffles Science Olympiad 2021. I know she didn’t win any award or medals but does the ‘outstanding achievement’ mean anything or is it a standard cert for all others? Haha
