Did you put in the 2a2 pcps just in case?
Hi
I have been looking at the historical data of Marymount convent and in general it seems 2C is safe without balloting and last two years figures were quite healthy .
However I noticed in 2018 the figures were high for 2C applicants (121 applied for 134 vacancies). Again this kind of high figures appeared in 2012-2014.

This year intake is 240, 2018 intake was 210. Don’t worry too much, no wonder you complained about white hair
2018 was registration year for Dragon boomer babies. SG50 and SG51 batch would be on par. But for Marymount Convent in particular, there’s the very recent (post-2018 I think) cap on PRs, so I think still no balloting for 2C this year.zac's mum\" post_id=\"2030714\" time=\"1626363518\" user_id=\"53606:
I got the data from this link
https://sgschooling.com/school/marymount-convent.html
Anyone can share insights on what hap in 2018. I am just a little concerned if this year due to SG50 cohort and coz many people were balloted out in 2A phase , the high figures will reappear again in 2C. Although in general I read that for 2C it should be 99.9% sure that there won’t be balloting but just wanted to ask the masters here again for comments . Thank you 😊
Every year people got balloted out at various phases. Some unsuccessful folks in SNGS would go for 2A2 or 2B IJs if they are eligible, rather than wait until 2C.
A few of us mentioned should be safe for 2C. Even if there is a balloting, it will be for PRs in 2C.
I just don’t want to say 100% guarantee, confirm plus chop to jinx it (if you know what I mean).
Ahhh 240 versus 210 and the PRs cap!!
Hehe ya I decided not to dye my hair black first until this P1 Reg is over for me lol 😂
Thank you so much 😊 -

I did Register for PCPS in 2A2. Now it is 30 applicants versus 31 vacancies although final figures not updated yet . I did a check with MOE and they say if I managed to get in and wanna withdraw can email to the school before 2C registration . Once the school confirms then we are ok to proceed in 2C for registration.

So well now I just wait for results and then after that still have a little more time to decide before 2C. -

You could have caused the ballot to happen when you aren’t sincere in registering for the sch in the first place when you are even thinking of withdrawing. There may be other kid who sincerely want to apply for the sch but got balloted out because of you and then u withdraw to go another sch. Seriously? Selfish act. -
Hi
Does anyone have any review on Zhonghua primary?
I noticed it’s not “popular” and there’s always leftover vacancies.
I’m considering my 2CS option, if I should go for Zhonghua or Marymount Convent.
I’m residing around serangoon north area. -
Hi am considering 2 options for my son. Seeking others opinions cos phase 2B is just round the corner. Should I forego PRPS and go for SSS as it has affiliations? Not sure if it’s a wise choice. Any opinions? My options:
1. Pasir Ris Primary School (phase2B) - distance within 1km
2. St stephens school (phase2C) - distance 10km -

Both schools are very different and very far apart.

Mixed vs girls school - which type do you prefer?
Distance / feasibility - which school is more doable?Zhonghua is no doubt nearer while I’m not sure there’s even direct public transport between MCS and Serangoon North. -

Having affiliation is great, but having to travel 10km 5x a week for 6 years for affiliation benefit is not so great.

I’m considering sending her to school via school bus. But I’d like to find out why it seems like no one is putting or wants to put their children in Zhonghua.

While I’d prefer girls school but if I don’t want to cross out mixed schools.
I don’t know much about Zhonghua but so far, the only thing I heard about Zhonghua is that the kids are naughty. I’d like to know how true is this, like… is it because of the environment or school culture or generally the kids in that school is like that. And what makes people choose other schools in serangoon except Zhonghua. -

Anyway this is your backup plan, you can check out the school and decide later.
Hope your plan in 2C works and go in without balloting.
