The decision making process doesn't make any sense. I can accept (grudgingly) going back to 2 people phase2 or whatever the name is now. But on the same day, LW announces that NDP will carry on.

After seeing those crowds on the rehearsal day, somehow they think this will not repeat itself on the actual day and this is somehow also safer than having >2 people visit households/ grandparents etc.
maybe this big event has to go on, just like the Tokyo Olympics ?

Not all old folks want to be vaccinated, even after this outbreak.

excluding those who cant take the jab due to medical/health matters, why the rest dont take the jab?

the Dunning Kruger effect, the death of expertise, intellectual humility...?

Probably the same reason why it takes our experts 4-6 weeks to read requested data submitted by Sinovac. They think can take their own sweet time to wait and see. So it now becomes a contest of who thinks they can wait longer, our experts or our elderlies who do not trust P and M.

In this staring contest, our elderlies will surely win.

And it is no longer true we cannot touch the under 12s with vaccination. A few countries have already approved EUA for under 12s. Just not with our favoured P and M vaccines.

          Somebody needs to work faster.

Why whenever each lockdown is implemented, financial help has to be dished out? If we are preparing to live with the virus, is dishing out $$ the way forward?
I think there will be no money handed out once we go to the \"live with the virus\" stage. At that point, those who get it will get it, I believe there will be much less quarantine, and life will go on for everyone else. The authorities still want to limit infections now, and so they have to support some who are losing their livelihoods due to the measures.

If only we have a 94yo Queen and her late 98yo consort to serve as good role models. The British elderly subjects were super supportive of the Queen. It also helped by holding some of their vaccination exercises in 3 historic cathedrals where church organists played hymns on the organ to calm the nerves of the seniors. What could be a better place to receive the unknown than the House of God, a sanctuary, a place that heals? :imanangel:

Taking a leaf from the UK, Taiwan Kaohsiung health authorities also got guitarists and violinists to play soothing ambient music in the convention centre while the >80yo elderly/frail took their jabs.

GKY just said they will take this 1 month to get more elderly to vaccinate. If the elderly don't or can't, then we'll always be stuck in this vicious cycle.

maybe Ah Gong can implement a rule that for those eligible seniors who refuse to vaccinate, if they get infected, they will be responsible …

Maybe every day just get the roving teams armed with needles and approach those elderly loitering in groups. If they don’t want, they will run home and hide.

There is a problem with testing strategies of once every 14 days if the incubation period for the delta variant is as short as 2-3 days. 14 days will be more than enough time for super spreading clusters.

What the Chinese experts are saying seems to be consistent with our own experience with Changi Airport T3, Tan Tock Seng, MINDSville, Jem and now Bukit Merah View.

Don't say nobody warned us just because no US, UK or European expert has said it yet har.
That be me one month ago on 19 June 2021. Ignore experts from the only country that has managed to keep it under control at your own peril. Corrections. At OUR peril.

Or maybe our western educated professors can just put aside their chauvinism and let our seniors have the vaccine they want.

Here's a simple cost-benefit analysis. Not vaccinated because they refuse to trust P and M, or vaccinated with \"inferior\" S?
