Good & Economical Priced Oven for baking..
-
I’ve been attending baking class at Phoon Huat.
Would like to do it with kids at home.
This thread comes at a right time. I am wondering any other better brand?
Aside this, i am looking for cook stainless steel pot eg:AMC is famous but very pricey.
Would like to buy mixer too. Any good recommendation? -
Hi Charmaine,
saw your post regarding Phoon Huat. I attended Phoon Huat before few times, and to be honest, their bakings are lousy (not sure of the standard now though). it's best to go for proper baking classes, e.g., those CC organised kind. They are tons better than Phoon Huat. and I mean it.
for kitchen mixer, kitchenaid is the best, but expensive.try to get it when there is a sale. around $599 for a basic one.:) -

Thks heyhoe, i will look out for this two brands..Pricing wise, I'm not too sure. Perhaps you can compare with the likes of Harvey Norman, Best Denki and even Paris Silk? With GSS, perhaps your can get better bargains
Fyi, Delonghi is under Kenwood. So, if you've any problem with the oven or need replacement parts chances are you can get the items from there. (as long as the model is not obsolete).

Hi,
Any recommendation for an oven that can do a good job in baking, grilling etc. I have a microwave oven but cant bake with it.
Thanks for your ideas!!
prices reasonable
see the model that interest you first
compare prices with shops like goh sin huat - telephone enquiry and order is okay and I got all my electrical appliances this way -

I have the stainless steel AMC pot. I love it and it is especially good for cooking soup. It saves gas, too. However, I still prefer the usual wok for stir-fry and deep frying.
I've the kenwood mixer and find it good. -

the one at united square is called mega discount store. we went there recently to get our new fridge. the sales staff and delivery staff are very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. there is another branch at katong mall which my friend went to. (she was the one who recommended this store to us.)
btw, when i was there, i saw a tefal oven on sale but my friend told me not to get tefal. she has one and she says that she has to check and turn her food over every now and then to make sure it cooks properly. -
I went to HN at West Mall to check out their Rowenta. The 2 on display look and feel really plasticky. I also did not see many Rowenta on display at the Mega Discount Store. Anywhere else has a lot of Rowenta on sale?

Hi All,
We have moved to a new flat and there is an old oven which I do not know how to operate. I tried to bake simple cookies for my daughter, but somehow it did not turn well.
I am going to try baking brownies, so i would rather ask someone who knows to operate this oven. Am afraid my brownies will not work well.
My oven is Cuizino oven…but i am not too sure about the serial number or which series.
Perhaps someone could help me…thanks -
Perhaps you should just buy an oven thermometer to check if the temperature is ok. Usually ovens are fine, but the temperature might not be accurate.
You can recalibrate the oven's dials with the thermometer too.
