what primary school are u in now ?livewith_vanilla:
Hi,I'm a student here and would like some opinions on NJC such as the teachers, workload etc. Considering the school for DSA(yes a bit late,i know).Been browsing through the pages since evening. On page 84 now.
Should I consider this school for DSA Academics? My results ranged like this:
English: 86.8/100 (Top: 87.3/100)
Maths: 93/100 (Top: 98/100)
Science: 77/100 (Top: 84.5/100)
Chinese: 87.3/100 (Top: 91+/100)
HCL: Merit
My results are mediocre but I really wish to get into NJC. Please advise! TIA!

Where do you stay? Would travelling distance be a consideration?[/quote]Sengkang. I don't really mind travelling an hour to and fro. So travelling distance is not a consideration for me. My aims are to get into IP schools but my dad wants me to go to Anderson. He says its nearer but i beg to differ because going to Anderson from my house takes around 30 min, excluding waiting for the bus(around 10-15 min) and walking to the school gates(10 min).

But yeah, it's quite a long journey. School ends most days at 3.30pm, but you'd have project work/meetings, and also cca.
Your results is quite alright. For NJC, there is no domain to apply under, not like under academics or cca. The DSA application is all general. Hopefully you have a good CCA record to support your application as well, to show that you're an all-rounder.
Most importantly, you'll have to do very well in the entrance tests (eng/math/abstract) that would be held on 17 july.

The dates for the dsa selection days seem to be quite late this year though. Last year's test was on 4th july. -
