It's finally time for Phase 2C tomorrow.
An exciting time for some, nerve wrecking for some and no feeling for some.

All the best to you. I presume you have your game plan ready.

Well, actually already planned since maybe 7 years ago. Ha ha
And the plan doesn't change.

But I would say it's nerve wrecking for me.
Especially the waiting and waiting.
First every phase from Phase 1 although not involved directly, the numbers of applicant matters cos ultimately will affect number of seats in 2C.

Now that it's 2C, the agony will be:
Day 3 MOE not going to show the numbers, so need to wait till around 12 Aug (based on last year) to know how many applied and whether there is balloting. And after that still need to wait till 17 Aug before knowing the results if involved in balloting.
When you have an absolute chance of a ballot and this first choice is better than the alternative which odds are worse off, remain calm and stay cool, you cannot control what people will do.

It will be good that school let parents know if they stand no chance to withdraw as they will not waste the chance.

Hi folks. Going in for 2C tomorrow…i must say the P1 registration exercise is nerve-wracking. Any feedback on St Gabriel’s? Ranking-wise it looks good, but not really sure why

Don’t understand what you meant by ranking.

For SC, should be a shoo-in.

That's the issue more for PRs and staying more than 2km. As SJIJ has more flow over this year, not sure the application rate for St gab.

Have you not consider other schools in Geylang? There are 2 that may not need balloting.

Nerve wrecking so far for me

Have been unsuccessul all previous rounds and now need to decide what to try for round 2c.
Chongfu or Marymount
Any advice from fellow mummies ?

Considerations :
CF is <1km but super high competition
MM is a lot further but seemed to be a sure entry at this round . More logistics issues to consider due to distance.

Dilemma!! Any advice from fellow parents ?

How many rounds did you try? The answer will probably affect your appetite for more ballots.

The real consideration is, are you ok with Peiying, Xishan or Ahmad Ibrahim for your kid?
If yes, go ahead with balloting for CFS.
If no, or you prefer to be in control of your kid’s destiny, go for MCS.

So going by the results in the previous rounds, am unsure whether to try a better school first in 2C, or to just secure a seat in a safer school. Have just heard floating opinions about St Gab, but havent had any real review or feedback from existing student.

For PR, I would advocate securing a seat over getting into a 'better' school. If there are opportunities to do both, go for it; else, getting a seat and avoiding Phase 2Cs is more important.
