Thanks so much!! I was afraid to call the school as I thought they’d be swamped, but you’re right. They confirmed we need to email them to withdraw before the end of 2C.

don't know why schools nowadays very tight lipped. In the past, everything transparent, provided break down numbers readily, by distance bracket. But not any more, today

You can only call up the school, ask for the numbers breakdown. But if the school GO Admin staff refuse to disclose on the last day of P2C even after 3.30 pm , you won't be able to know.

If you have secured a P1 place for your child in a previous registration phase, you will need to withdraw your place from the school before registering in another school. Unless you have withdrawn your place, MOE will not process any further online applications made for your child and your child will remain in the school that your child had earlier secured a place at. You are to ensure that the child has been successfully withdrawn before submitting another online application.

Schools are not very tight lipped nowadays... schools have always been very tight lipped in the past as well. In the past, everything is not always transparent and numbers are not always broken down readily.

People who look at the past fondly would probably be saying things are better in the 80s than the noughties as well (p/s: it is! Especially when it comes to pop culture :evil: )

What schools in the past can provide, are numbers that are based on walk-in registration. They are not able to give you a detailed breakdown of the online registration.

The first type, they only have to count from the pieces of paper in front of them; the latter type, they have to log in, do some magic and tabulate, a little bit more effort involved, especially on a LIVE database. As the former type constitutes the majority of application, it is not difficult for schools to have a confidence level of being > 90% correct in their numbers. When the latter constitutes the majority of their application (in fact, ALL of their application now), it's not so easy to break down those numbers or be confident to anyone who is asking.

Imp75, You have some more kids to register?? Or you’re asking for a friend?

MOE website is not so fantastic to provide updates. And no distance breakdown. They will only give the total number of applicants, once on Tuesday evening and once on Wednesday evening. That’s all.

Perhaps since there’s 3 days for Phase 2C…

Why not Day 1 only for those applying within 1KM, Day 2 for those 1KM to 2KM and Day 3 for those more than 2KM?
Likewise provide updates for Day 1 and Day 2 only.
Then people can make an informed choice. Oh and yes, no withdrawal once submitted for that Phase.
