      Numbers for today is out.
81 applicants already compared to 66 on Day 1 last year
Hopefully is just more people applying on Day 1 instead of waiting till last 2 days

Tbh based on what I observe, balloting in 1km will probably be the norm in years ahead. Look at 2019, 123 seats 6 outside 2km. Means 1km could easily be a 100. There was a theory about new citizens and I think that’s probably very likely the cause of the new norm. If you work in mnc or bank it’s very apparent. Last time it’s all done in a day. Now online takes weeks. Shouldn’t technology be an enabler? Rather know and move on. This slow burn is unwarranted.
It might be true about the new citizens.
If you come across their forum about schools, it’s quite apparent NYPS and RGPS are their top 2 choices, or best schools in their opinion. They not concern at all for other schs nearby like SCGS or MGS for the affiliation like many local parents do.
Actually this dillemma seems extra obvious in this region of SG. Don’t see the affiliation being a concern for parents gunning after Tao nan ?
Anyway, Not many properties nearby RGPS to begin with, and Rental and prices of nearby properties also expensive, but not deterring them fighting for a space..

81 out of 97 spaces filled for today! Don’t know how many parents are doing the wait n see approach to apply on the last day. So uncertain compared to the live updates back then before covid.

Ah I see. Think you are as anxious as I am. 🙂 it’s hard to say. I’m surprised so many wait till day 2 last year. Of cos technically wouldn’t make a difference. Guess we will know end Tom. Doesn’t look that great for now. Trending towards that new norm unfortunately

My guess it’s RGPS will ballot for SC > 2km this year.

The 66 was referred to last year which was online balloting also. This year sg50 also. Hence I really think it’s going to be very competitive.

Yeah floppy I certainly hope! so but 81 out of 97, doesn’t give me much confidence at this point.

                        Hi Sasawan

Are u using the grassroots route? Need to serve min. 2 years right?
How can I know how many applicants are PV and GRL in phase 2B? How many total number of GBL applicants each year?
