From what I read higher cases and death will be expected.

Just 2 weeks ago, OYK said we must return to phase 2 HA to protect the old and vulnerable from DYING!!

Now he said after National Day, we will start to open up and let’s be mentally prepared to see higher cases and DEATH RATES WILL GO UP. That’s why earlier DH said SG is schizophrenic.

DH asked me rhetorically, you want to 病死 or 饿死, please choose one. 😂 It is a tough battle.

I know I sound callous, but seriously, people die every day. And the old and vulnerable are more likely to die, whether of Covid or something else. People die in car accidents, in fires, in workplace accidents, etc. despite all the rules that govern such activities, but we don't expect to reduce them to zero. We cannot expect to prevent all deaths.

      I agree with your husband.

Yalor..that's why I told myself must be flexible..just received my 2nd jab then all the news make me so worry till I literally broke down. Cannot la..must take care own health. Whatever comes think of the other side of logic to convince ownself 😂

On the economy and health I don't think go same direction ao what's important is the risk benefits analysis again ba.

But I do have another concern tho, if some countries don't accept our direction then longer quarantine?? Let's see arh.

The recognition of non-mRNA vaccines is only from a counting perspective right? It is still not covered under the vaccination injury scheme?

              I agree with your husband.
Got one news either last week or two weeks ago stated the suicide rate among seniors spiked significantly last year. Keeping them alive but not giving them a life worth living is worse actually. The mental and social cost of prolonged kiasi Covid policies I think are far greater.

Anyway, since we are going down the endemic route, I am mentally prepared that eventually me or my kids might contract Covid. But I guess with the vaccination the impact should be negligible.

So can delay 3rd dose, if one day needed probably.

Let's see arh.
Most of the major countries like UK and US are already going down the endemic route and probably going to set up quarantine free travels. Third world countries around us like Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand are probably going to do the same also because there is no way they could pursue zero case strategy. Probably only China, Australia, and New Zealand are still anal on preventing infection, but I guess the government here is making a calculated decision that the economic gain from opening up to other endemic countries would enough to offset the loss from those more kiasi countries.

I think not very nice to say people kiasi ba. Why don’t we see these countries maybe foreseeing consequences that the other extreme side dont see? Or maybe they care for the people?

The issue is our neighbouring countries may not be as ready as us to go on the endemic route.
