      https://www.moe.gov.sg/primary/p1-registration/vacancies-and-balloting

      just to check:
MOE will only update the live number of people who registered at the end of the day is it?

Cos the number of vacancies has not moved.
      Same as previous phases.
Will update Day 1 at end of day and the final update some time before 31 August (I think could be 27 August).

        A brief summary of 2Cs day 1.

More applicants this year than last year for day 1, about 1k more.
Based on ppl who failed at 2C, there should be ard 1.5k applicants to go for tomorrow. Its not excessive considering 2.7k applied last year on day 2.

One of the more eye popping stats was concord where 43 applied for 5 spots, 8.6X over subscribed.

Some area like Sengkang, Punggol, and Hougang still have 100+ to go for each area. Hougang should look to have less drama, SengKang will still be on Anchor green, Fern vale and Palm view and punggol folks will need to choose between balloting or either of the two: greendale and northshore to avoid balloting.

Need advice, can anyone give advice which pri school to register for 2CS,very much appreciated:)

-northshore pri school or northspring pri sch

My new BTO estimated to be ready by March 2023, northshore just walking distance for my new flat but now we r living at rivervale drive and got rejected by Rivevale pri school for 2C phase, we r quite headache right now to choose north spring which near our current house or northshore? Choose northshore means need to travel far for 1-2yrs time given now the covid situation(not sure will be any delay in TOP or not🤣).
If not, would it be better to go north spring first then apply for transfer in P1 or P2?

          Thanks a lot!

Ah...Concord. 1 of DD3's childcare friends got balloted out of South View and another, CCKPS. They are looking at Concord but I discouraged them from trying. No point. Balloting again and once out, they have to wait for MOE to allocate them a school. And I think they live outside 1km of Concord.

IMHO, I will pick Northshore instead of North Spring.
If you drive, it's less than 20 mins.
If don't drive, LRT from Bakau or Rumbia to Sengkang, MRT to Punggol, LRT to Punggol Point. Total time ~ 30 mins.

There's a need to travel but it isn't going to take up a lot of your time.

Also, your kid will be assimilated right from the start, instead of having to leave his/her friend, make new friends, settle down in a new school etc. While children can manage that transition quite comfortably, why subject him/her and yourself to that stress?

Lastly, transfer is not guaranteed. It depends on how things are like in the school at that point in time. I would imagine that if your BTO is ready, the BTO of 400 other people are also ready. If 10% of them are looking at a transfer and thinking the same, I doubt the school can take in everyone.

If they live > 1km of Concord, they won't even get a chance to ballot.

There is no 'default' school. It all depends on which schools have places left after Phase 2CS.

Serangoon is a big place. For the moment, seems like Zhonghua is available for Serangoon planning area but the child could also be posted to Xinghua (Hougang) or Yio Chu Kang (Hougang) or Townsville (Ang Mo Kio) or Seng Kang (doh!). It's due to the randomness of the posting (or an algorithm that we may not fully understand) that most people would suggest not to test the system if you could avoid the ballot.
