Those who score 100 for math will get a T-score of 91.

Those who score 100 for science (near impossible) will only get a T-score of 77.5

100 in English (another impossible case) the T-score will be 74.5

100 in Chinese (for PRC) the T-score will be 72.

I hope you will now understand why I have made so much noise regarding the Math paper. There will be at least 50 pupils out there who get 100 for math, enjoying a disproportionate jump in their T-score.

Anyway, MOE will sure have to moderate the marks. Otherwise the top student will have an aggregate T-score of over 300 (a new record)

the mean and SD is specific to the cohort in the school and is different for each subject in each exam

for P5, the mean ranges from 65 to 75 and the SD ranges from 9 to 17, cohort size approx 400, excluding GEP

the numbers are similar for P6 SA1, and the median is higher than the mean

all the numbers are from the school

Don't use \"mean\" that does not include the GEP because GEP's scores will be included for computation of the 'mean' in PSLE.

Be prepared for the 'means' of Math and Chinese to be close to \"80\", that is, if a kid gets 80 marks, in term of T-score, he/she has \"just passed\".

Why you say if one's score = mean, he/she 'just passed'. I'd interpret it as this child's result for that subject is just AVERAGE compared to the whole cohort. It also an indication that if this child wants to be in the top few % then he has to work much harder.

In fact, I felt that SD also provides valuable & meaningful info besides mean. For calculation of T-score, SD is a very crucial factor. So I still disagree that if score = mean, then by t-score its only a just pass.
