That kind of news think many of us have read it from internet before… the thing is what should we do?

Unless MOH is going to approve a vaccine for children here anytime very soon, this is called 废话.

If the majority are diehard PAP supporters, then they should try to be understanding and cooperative, as they have unvaccinated grandkids too, no?
Implementing harsh measures at this point will have dire political ramifications. The PG and MG people making up a significant voter base sure would be super unhappy.lee_yl\" post_id=\"2037584\" time=\"1631419071\" user_id=\"17023:
The old folks are the PG and MG whose votes matter a lot.
If we must placate the PG and MG voters because they will be angry if they cannot dine-out at food centres and go to wet markets, then be prepared for 1,000 cases and a higher death toll in the coming fortnight.
Frankly, there is no need to worry abt the PG and MG at this point, as our GE just ended. -

I suppose this is beyond the OB marker here? -

A significant contributing factor to higher mortality rate of COVID and flu in US is the reluctance of their populace to seek immediate medical help because of the rampant overcharging by hospitals there. Many would try to self-medicate first until really cannot get up already then call the ambulance, and that includes the children. In Singapore we don't have really have to worry because our primary care is heavily subsidized.

Not so soon as FDA will exercise extra caution during their review process. Earliest is early winter in the US.

Even the full approval of BioNTech here will take some time as I suspect our EC19V+MTF wants to wait for Novavax to come in Dec for some tens of thousands to finish taking; and for more elderly and PRC residents to take their Sinovac and SinoPharm until Oct/Nov. If they make BNT mandatory for all the remaining unvaccinated now, they know they will get backlash.
That's why HC hinted we can go endemic only by 1Q2022. -
To me is if forsesee serious issue then we try to lessen the impact.
It just hit me…while can understand some kids may not have adults at home to supervise if were to hbl or some kids may prefer to continue learning social skills in school etc… can we give those very worry parents some options eg a live recording of classroom teaching? Not only benefit the ganjiong parents but also benefit the kids who are on QO/ SHN or whatever we call it. No extra work from teachers. Some tuition ctrs are doing it I think.
The virus cannot control we can understand… but if want parents to let go their kids even though they could see the consequences…how are we expect the parents to live if something bad really happened? -

Actually, our (secondary) school is already conducting lessons somewhat in that manner - hybrid (= onsite in-person lesson in the classroom, also streamed live, plus recorded too), but not bcos of very worry parents 😅, usually bcos some kids were on sick leave (caught a cold etcetera)
