Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) Updates

The more I think about it, the angrier I get.
Those worried parents could actually opt to keep their kids at home if they’re worried. Why pressure MOE to implement FHBL?
So now us parents who are against FHBL, can we actually opt to send our kids to school? I cannot, unless I can prove that I can’t WFH etc. -

As with previous years, our school had already scheduled HBL for the non-graduating cohorts during the Psle period (P4 HBL was initially planned on 30/09, 01/10, 04/10)
Interesting, this was before 2020 as well? Any reason why they aren't off 5/10 and 6/10 too?SG_KP1\" post_id=\"2038536\" time=\"1631933156\" user_id=\"188234:
...Those were my first questions/thoughts. While I definitely understand the need to hold the national exams (and want as many kids as possible to be able to attend), it just shifted the burden to 40,000 x 3 = 120,000 other kids (P3-P5 SA2s)...

...Or his teachers may be planning full-on revision via Zoom/mock papers with recorded explanations, I don’t know...
One nuance is that is something is known or planned well in advance, it is easy to deal with. I don't know how much behind the scenes lead time the schools/teacher were given for this though. Obviously the more the better, as it is not an easy period for them (teachers) either... -
Have you seen how explosive the spread of Delta can be among unvaccinated children in primary schools? Putian is a lesson for everyone. And with the recent admission by our professors that the mRNA vaccines are not very effective in stopping transmission of Delta, their entire households will most likely in turn get it, vaccinated or not.
MOH and MOE better get their act together to have our 6-11 year olds vaccinated before the start of the new school year. We cannot afford to take our own sweet time and wait for the Americans to come to a decision on this. Beginning of next year is too late.
Ministers are paid millions to make decisions based on imperfect information and data. Any cow can make decisions with perfect information. -
Again:
Is there any evidence that P1-P5 children will fall severely ill if they contracted Covid? -
Next wk whole week still got school for P1 to P5 right?
-
PG notification says primary schools will remain open for students who require additional support during the HBL period…

I could have told you this one month ago. Wait... I did. :slapshead:
Does it not follow then that the best booster is actually one of the S inactivated virus vaccines? -

Yup
Yes, as far back as pre-covid. This time round P4s were supposed to return to school for in-person lessons on 05+06/10; then it's P5s' turn to HBL 05+06/10. For non-graduating cohorts, psle period's schedule is tweaked every so often - the idea is to minimise distractions -
Also I would like to highlight this.
IMO, children are the super spreader. Although children will not get seriously ill if infected. But because they scream, cry, talk loudly and poor in hygiene practices plus they don’t mask up properly. -
It’s frustrating, but our government is trying its best already! Other countries are in a far worth situation.
It is hard for everyone, including the decision-maker.
Let’s keep cool, calm and collected for our own health.
