Many already changed ways of living like order groceries/food online and delivered to door-step, contactless payment, attending mtg/lessons online etc. Some jobs just cant change ie WFH and hv to be physically present.
How abt instead of head on with virus, we change our way of living, working, ways of doing bz etc. Whole world affected..lesser ppl dying. -

Like India, right? Once you get it, you get some natural immunity. I also feel it's a conscious 大清毒 exercise.
To me it seems like we need to cross a hurdle/go through a phase...
How this phase will be like? More acquire natural immunity? Eliminate the weakest?
After this phase, how is the 'new' situation looks like? Most of us will become 'stronger' because many of us would have make friends with the virus? But will still be people fall seriously ill here and there coz over time our body conditions may change?
Then come another stronger virus...go back to starting point again..

MEDICAL TRIAGE: HOSPITALS FACE THE ETHICAL DILEMMA OF DEPRIORITIZING CARE FOR ELIGIBLE UNVACCINATED PEOPLE
The Hippocratic oath requires doctors to treat all patients equally, but what happens when you run out of doctors? This is not the first time medical staff and hospital beds were in short supply during the pandemic. There is, however, something notably different this time.
In the early stages of COVID-19, patients overflowed hospitals at alarming rates. This forced physicians to make tough decisions, some likening it to conducting triage during war. Patients with the best chance of survival got the bed. The rest did not. It was a death sentence few health care providers wanted to write, but that the virus necessitated.
A year and a half later, it is happening again — hospitals are overflowing and medical staff are in short supply. Unlike when the pandemic started, this isn’t necessary. There are now several remarkably safe and effective vaccines that could all but eliminate hospitalizations and deaths. Regrettably, many Americans are simply refusing to use them.
When there was no vaccine, medical triage was straightforward. But now, the situation is changing. It is not a level playing field — many of the sick needing care have turned down a vaccine that could have prevented them from needing hospital care. This raises an uncomfortable ethical question: Should eligible, unvaccinated people be medically triaged at the same priority level as the vaccinated?
If medical capacities weren’t being reached, it’d be simple. In medicine, everyone receives equal access to treatment regardless of personal choices — even a convicted murderer on death row will be given a life-saving surgery the night before lethal injection. The same is true for decisions that knowingly shorten lifespan or create disease. It’s all part of the job.
But it’s not so simple anymore. It feels different when hospital resources become so scarce that the decision not to vaccinate against medical recommendation can kill someone else. For example, if someone makes the choice not to get vaccinated, and that choice results in occupying a bed that someone else who got vaccinated needs, and without it they could die, is that ethically fair?

“我做了抗原快速自助检测，结果呈阴性，但妻子没收到短信，但因喉咙痒，自行到诊所检测，结果17日确诊。”
陈先生表示，家里没有垃圾槽，家人也不敢外出，靠外卖解决三餐，堆积了许多垃圾，全部放在厨房，发出恶臭。
I think they've forgotten most new HDB flats have no chute inside their flats. So if everyone's HO'd, they will have to accumulate trash for 10 days. If not, they will have to wear a mask and leave it right outside their doorstep for PPE-clad grassroots volunteers to collect for them (hopefully no cats or pests come infest their main door), or ask good neighbours to help them throw their bio-hazard cutlery and what nots into the communal chute every night.
Those HO'd in landed houses also have to take the daily trash outside their main gate to place in the rubbish bin for Super800 truck to collect. -

If we go back to CB, then when they start opening up, this upsurge in cases will happen anyway. It's now or later, it can't be avoided. CB will curb the no. of cases, but will only do so if CB is continued in perpetuity. That is not possible.
Tighter measures: We could go back to full CB, all offices and restaurants closed, all schools on HBL, cut back on flights, tourists, etc. But what's the point? This rise in cases has to happen - if not now, then later. The rate of increase can be slowed (hence the current measures, and the threat of even more measures), but the increase itself has to happen sooner or later. Her father, who \"doesn't like to sit in one place for too long\", has also been roaming around their home, according to CK.
When CK and her other family members came back home from a clinic to do their polymerase chain reaction PCR tests as instructed by MOH, she noticed her plants outside had been watered, and deduced that her father had once again stepped out of the flat.
The other elderly, L's father and family were tagged though, but the family members could not stop their father from walking around the house!

We can probably bubble-wrap ourselves and get to zero cases now but as long as we open up eventually, we are still going to see cases go up.
HBL on 27 Sep only applies to pri school kids though. If they really wanna tighten, then applying this to all levels (sec, jc) is another thing they can do - they've already done that once before last year. -

Anyway, 2 more weeks EOY will be over, for Sec 1 to 3 (OP and IP) students. Now is year-end exam period, for the Sec (1s to 3s). The last paper for end of the year school exam is held on Friday, 8 Oct, in a number of Secondary schools. When is 8 Oct ?

if MOE want to close the entire Term 4 school Term, bring forward the year end school holidays to start earlier, can, by all means ! Then, our Secondary school students will just get back their report card next year, when January 2022 new academic year start.
However, it will create another new problem ! Because with such a long school holiday ahead, naturally, students will be bored staying at home whole day. What will they do ? Pour out, spill over effect into the streets, onto the road, into MRT train cabin, go shopping centre , window shopping, makan inside air-con restaurant, jalan jalan, look see look see, because too bored staying at home, can't be confined, imprisoned at home, whole day looking at the 4 walls. Some more, is school holiday, supposed to shake leg, enjoy, not regular Term time, no need to study. Then what happen? Numbers will rise again !
