Hi, I am thinking of joining as GRL for my current GRC but it is likely we will move in the next couple of months. We are not sure which area we are moving to at the moment so I was wondering if my “tenure” at the current GRC will be able transferable.
Or should I just wait and move first then join the GRC in my new place? I tried to read through most of the posts and I read that it is up to the discretion of my new GRC and some might not be receptive. Are there any changes to this?
Would any of the existing GRLs here be able to provide some guidance or advice based on your experience in your GRCs and whether they are receptive to “transfer” members or prefer “new” members?
Really appreciate it. Thanks! -

Sometimes, it’s not so much as being receptive or not.
It’s simply that the rc is full.
All executive members guarding their seats well, for one reason to another that is irrelevant to the discussion here.
The cap is 30. Is that correct ?
Any chairman here? -
Hi all,
i am new here and would like to seek your advice.
i would need to apply for primary school in 2023 for my daughter and i am targeting Nanyang Primary School. I am currently an EM (just for 1 month) in Tanjong Pagar GRC for almost one year. I am intending to move to 1km before the registration.
my question
1) if I move to the new address which is 1km to Nanyang primary, can i still use the grassroot letter from current GRC for 2B? or do i need to transfer my EM to the new RC/NC in the new address?
2) for renting a property near the target school, do i have to stay in the same address for 30 months? can it be like staying there for a few months and transfer to another address but still within 1km?
thanks
best regards

Before we answer other questions, if your EM started in Aug 2021, and the grassroots connect website will open about May 2023 for application 2B, you are not more than 2 years, so not eligible.

hi can i ask how did you get the GRC overlay with the school distance in onemap? i always only get one or the other, cannot put both together.
(sorry i havent use forum for a long time, dunno how to quote the post!) -
just like to portray my situation here and see if it makes sense. my girl is born 2018 and would go for P1 registration in 2024. both me and my husband are GRL, but only my husband is in RC so only his GRL status should qualify. We are in Aljunied GRC, and looking at St Nics, which means we need to move.
my intention was to apply for PV, which would open for 2018 kids somewhere in Sep 2022. which means i need to stay within one km by then (St Nics dont accept PV outside of 1km residence, from my understanding.) initially i was thinking if i am not accepted as a PV, then i would join the GRL over there instead. but then i realise this 2 yr requirement. does it means i need to move by May 2022, compare to PV i only need to move around Sep 2022?
if my husband served as GRL in Aljunied GRC for many years, move to say, Marymount SMC and become EM there but less than two years, would they give the recommendation letter base on accumulative period over two GRC/SMC? or is it subjective to the MP/PA advisor? my husband term is only ending in jan 2023, so we prefer not to prematurely terminate the term as he has his projects he want to see through. putting aside the admin timing, quota etc, is it subjective thing if he has only one year as GRL in the residence GRC (AMK or Marymount) but many years in another GRC (Aljunied GRC) -

1. Depending on your CD/GCD, you may lose your EM after VMS update or not issued 2B letter. But if allowed, no need to transfer EM status.

2. 30 months depending on school. NYPS checks (depending on the year). Can transfer within 1km. -
