RE: All About Active Community Leaders
Hi all,
i am new here and would like to seek your advice.
i would need to apply for primary school in 2023 for my daughter and i am targeting Nanyang Primary School. I am currently an EM (just for 1 month) in Tanjong Pagar GRC for almost one year. I am intending to move to 1km before the registration.
my question
1) if I move to the new address which is 1km to Nanyang primary, can i still use the grassroot letter from current GRC for 2B? or do i need to transfer my EM to the new RC/NC in the new address?
2) for renting a property near the target school, do i have to stay in the same address for 30 months? can it be like staying there for a few months and transfer to another address but still within 1km?
thanks
best regards

RE: Nanyang Primary
For 2B, heard if you are recognized as an active community leader, you are also eligible for 2B application. Do i have to be an active community leader in the same GRC as the school?

2 years is good, you stand a stronger chance.
I guess i am a bit kiasu ah. my girl is only 2 years old right now.starverb:

The only SHHK school that still accept PV is Chong Fu.
Ai Tong, Nan Chiau, Tao Nan and Kong Hwa do not accept PV anymore. So, it may not be easier (or even possible) to go through PV route than through SHHK.
It's not just the number of hours clocked, the tenure of the membership is just as important. If you are only a member for < 3 years, I suspect the odds are not in your favour.
But you are not kiasu, those would have started when the kid is still swimming in mummy’s tummy.
thanks. is there anyone who can help recommend us to SHHK? you may drop me an email at -

Does the school accept PV? It might be easier to go through PV route than through SHHK. My friend joined SHHK and clocked double the hours required for the normal PV but in the end didn't manage to get the letter.

Is your girl a Singapore citizen? If not, you might not even have the chance to ballot. In Phase 2B & 2C, most popular schools conduct balloting for citizens living within 2km. Some even conduct balloting for those living within 1km. -
