That’s why whatever measures/directions/preparations are important?

Another way to confront the question is

If Government needs to raise income tax immediately and drastically to fund Covid measures, will all of us still opt to close up, shut down and save every life?

          Hard truth, hard trade-offs.

Or we just trying, for me (at least) I can’t see what is in front? At end of the road if we see not viable lots of sacrifices along the process liao.

My simple thinking is shut down for few weeks, cases will drop, healthcare system got time to prepare…then open again. Isn’t this likely less costly? Drag and drag will only get more…we dare go shopping, go cinema?

If this continues, I think economy generated from our internal consumption may be lower also…

The question is - after shutting down a few weeks to bring down cases, then reopen and cases surge again, what do we do? Shut down again?

Just reading today’s ST accounts on the PSLE kids made my heart sink. Imagine all the anxiety and mental costs all the measures are exacting on our PSLE kids. Our Covid-containment measures are super onerous! The numbers involved - no joke. I felt especially sorry for the account of the kid who went to the GP for a stomach ailment and was made to undergo a PCR test and due to results not being out in time, could not take PSLE English. The child’s mom is blaming herself like crazy for having brought the child to the doctor.

Could it be due to ‘uncontrollable’ ? Spread till you just have to treat anyone near you may have it? And if get it need to be on own. This is new to us. And read ppl calling for medical assistance also difficult. Give ppl some time to get used to it… don’t just throw it out and expect we all can take it steadily.

The news reported that seniors age 60 above and took 2nd dose on 1 Apr or earlier, can walk in for the booster dose.

It is strange that my colleague age 63 received the SMS and booked his booster dose on 2 Oct despite his 2nd dose was mid Apr.

Because the magic number is 143 days after 2nd shot. Healthcare sector was very confused over this too.

143 days would be less than 5 months
