Just came back from Hokkaido 8D7N, fly and drive by prime travel.
Chartered flight direct to Sapporo.
Superb holiday, wonderful service by prime travel.
Was a self drive trip with english GPS guide.
Food was scrumptious and the hotels were 5 star!
This was one of the most splendid holidays i have ever had! -
HI carebear,
how much did you spent in all? I went to prime travel website, 1 pax around $4k?! that's very expensive right? :? -
Joy:
Yes, free and easy but the tour company listed all the attractions and recommended places to eat, so it is up to you to follow their recommendation, or do other things.Hi carebear

So you can wake up at your own time and set out as you wish.
Different day different hotel.
You can check out a similar package at this site :

Car and toll charges included.
Had 4 nights at different onsen hotels. -

Prime Travel (ie Follow Me Japan) is known for \"quality service/hotel/food\" so therefore expect to pay more than most other travel agents. Owner is a Japanese himself and they only do \"Japan\" tours. All meals are provided for the coach packages and will be mostly authentic quality jap meals frequented by locals (and not for mass market travellers). They have 2 type of packages (coach and Fly & Drive) with English speaking guides. Another reason is that they charter the whole SQ plane to fly direct to Hokkaido and you save about 5 hours than the usual route via internal flight from Tokyo to Hokkaido. -
Hi Joy,
is there any direct flight from S’pore? -
I dont think so.

Which airport should I get off at to get to Hokkaido ? Hows the shopping there ? Is it a good time to go in June ?
The New Chitose Airport has a newly opened shopping wing since March 2010 that is comparable to Tokyo Narita.
But I would suggest that you plan your arrival and departure airport around your preferred iterary so you can save time and $. There are lots of domestic airports across the island with frequent flights from Tokyo and Osaka. Or you can also try the JR train.
As for June, late June would have been better.
We just returned from Hokkaido this June. You may check out my travel blog for reference.
