In terms of T-scores we know that MSG IP is usually around 3 to 4 T-score lower than RGS and RI etc. However, in terms of 2020 AL COP, they are now the same at AL6. This mean student can no longer rely on 1 or 2 strong subjects to push up their achievement level.
MGS IP(IB) was AL6 in the simulation whereas NYGH was AL7(M). Similarly, ACSI IP(IB) was AL7, basically the same as HCI AL7(M).CCK2008\" post_id=\"2040602\" time=\"1633325046\" user_id=\"26004:
Well, I am very sure the COP will be the same as last year. The 4 top schools will still be RI/RGS, HCI/NYGH. They are still the ever-popular dream schools. In fact, they are also the top schools when I was taking PSLE some 35 years ago. Unfortunately, my PSLE was not good enough to get into them, but my children succeeded.
Personally, I won't be surprised if this group keeps running at the same AL COP or if the two IP(IB) schools are ranked higher. Maybe we will still see the higher scoring kids flock to RI/RGS, HCI/NYGH just because they are popular by public opinion. However, it is also possible that there is an actual difference in preference among students (SAP or not, IB or not) and that the two different scoring systems just spit out different answers as to which is \"harder\" to get into. Specifically, some t-scores at HCI and NYGH could have been boosted by extremely high scores in CL (if you believe MT is the subject with the lowest average). But in the new system there is no difference 90 vs. 100 and 90 is 90 regardless of what the subject average is. Of course, high CL scores wouldn't be applicable to all students who entered via PSLE and it is hard to say how much this could have impacted things at the COP.
One important question parents should ask during the webinar is based on a simulation done for 2020, how many applicants would have to go through balloting. e.g. if COP was AL6, how many students have AL6.
And this should give parents an indication of the risk in the balloting. -
Do we have any idea whether schools took in more DSA students this year such that it’s above the typical 30% leaving less spaces for non-DSA students? I think there would be more DSA applications this year due to the uncertainty with the new AL system but just wondering if schools would also take in more, or just stick to the 30% value?

如果评分准则没有格外严格,还是有机会得到一点(”同情“)分数的, 因为可以(勉强)解读为那位阿姨是出自于真心想要帮他。
唉,谢谢您。我也是觉得是有信用可是我女儿不会写 😅Ngmum\" post_id=\"2040666\" time=\"1633342315\" user_id=\"195243:

MGS has 4 class IP and the rest O level. Most students in RI/RGS, HCI/NYGH are ESIS students, that is why you seldom see them in edusave award ceremonies. -

Is there any approximate "conversion formula" between T score and AL?

No. No direct conversion.

老师,这道题两分,写一个特征够吗? 还是得写两个?
