Agree with Estéema...normally I keep very mum until all my paperwork are done - buy airticket, get her PCR done, ensure she has no access to young kids or elderlies when you break the news of her send off & str-away get her to pack all her belongings & drive str to airport.
...If u don’t prefer to see her sobbing face or stories or even ‘sincere’ beggings, you can engage a runner to send her to airport. It is IMPT that u ensure she enters the Departure gate & she’s already onboard her flight... -
I have a maid that has been with me for 12 years. She is 54 years old this year. Next year, since my children are all going to secondary school, I have decided to stop her services. Moreover, there is no more space in the house for her to stay as it’s really not fair for both maid and children to be sharing.
I have spoken to my folks and they are willing to take her in for her to live and work for them. I searched MOM website and most of the information that I am seeking is for new maids. Can someone please give me advice/ opinion…
1. Can I still keep her under my name even though she does not work or stay with me? I know legally it’s not right, but the transfer process is too confusing and messy.
2. Does my mom/dad over is 70 years old, still need to go for the maid hiring course? They do not have email accounts or computer.
3. Any other things I need to look out for when leaving her at my folks’ place since it’s now taking care of elderly instead of kids. -

1) You can call MOM to ask about the transfer process since it is merely a transfer of employer (from you to your parents). I find the MOM staff quite ok when I asked about the renewal process.

Star had given u the option for being a sponsor for yr elderly parents to hire yr current helper to care for them. That way, neither yr elderly parents nor yourself need to go thro eyer’s course. Just go online MOM website select the sponsorship application. As a sponsor, yr current helper can then work at yr parents’ residence officially. Pls ensure she does hop btwn yr h’hold & yr elderly’s h’hold, then it’s perfect.

Yes, do get yr helper’s consent after explaining yr need to transfer h’hold. Best get it in writing so it doesn’t come back to bite u tt u’re using her for both h’hold since she’s alr familiar with yours & can use it against you even if she doesn’t step back to yr home after the transfer.
Shld work out well for her if handled carefully in process as she gets to keep working & earning unless she prefers to return back to homecountry. Shld work out well for you/parents having familiar resin to help yr parents & eliminate the hassle of bringing someone into SG during Covid (with PCR & high hotel quarantine expenses).

Go to the MOM website under FDW & u shld fine plenty of information on quarantine ‘hotels’ & PCR processes. She will need to do her PCR & text negative before leaving Indonesia. That’s only then shld u book her flight over. You can get a runner to bring her fr airport to quarantine location or fetch her home after quarantine time yourself.

I called MOM to check about fdw going back to Indonesia, and returning to Sg, and was told that so far the fdws that have gone home and want to return back back to sg are not allowed to do so due to the travel restrictions. -
I would like to feedback a maid from hell who come to sg to cheat on old man money. My uncle is 74 years old married old man. He seem to be under her spell, always sending money to her no matter how bad the relationship between him and his kids had turned out to be now. She is back in Philippines at the moment, trying to find a new owner to hire her back to sg. Be cautious.

My new helper joined us for about 2 weeks now. I just brought her to the A&E and she is hospitalised for high blood pressure 255/130. She claims that she has no history of hypertension and is not medicated. As I’m typing this she is warded and I’ve already incurred about $3.5k so far, and the bill could end up being way more.
When I spoke to the agency they tried to insinuate that she worked too much and was not given sufficient rest. Luckily I have installed CCTV which recorded how light a workload she had. Claims she doesn’t not know how to cook and since joining me cooked just 3 meals (during the interview this wasn’t the case or I wouldn’t have hired her). I thus buy food and she eats the same food as us. Joined me to two weeks and thus far has not washed bathrooms and changed my linen! (I am giving her an adjustment period so while I’ve given her a schedule, I haven’t enforced it.)
Mamas, I am considering sending her back to the Philippines but I’ve paid for 4 weeks of quarantine (2 in Phil, 2 weeks here), and if I am getting a new helper I’ll likely have to pay that again for the new helper. If I transfer her I feel bad for her next employer. What should I do

Bite the bullet, send her home so u don’t pass yr problem to ano family who may be even more stressed bcoz of high medical costs
As employers, we need to recognize that FDW come fr poorer families & esp those staying in villages typically do not go check their health conditions & may not be aware of any inherent illnesses they have.
A frd of mine had to pay for her helpers’ monthly medication lifetime coz her high blood pressure & cholesterol medication cannot be stopped once started o’wise will trigger danger to life. Each time she goes to doc incurs hundreds.
Ano frd of mine experienced the same with her helper who fainted on 2nd day on her job caring for her elderly mum. Instead, her mum got a fright & had to call my frd in panic & cook the new FDW porridge. My frd incurred >8K hospital bill & as the FDW insurance hasn’t kicked in yet (she didn’t take my advice to get a full cover but bought insurance thro her brother) my frd had to pay fr her pocket. Yet, she cldnt send her FDW str to homecountry unless the doc certified she’s fit to fly. If she faints again at the airport before leaving, employers hv to bear all costs & responsibilities. So she waited patiently till doc certified & quickly book her ticket & send her home. Medical for foreigners are very expensive & a foreign helper falls under foreign charges for all types of medical bills.
