Just some diversion from morbid news....

Singaporeans are so starved for travels, that so many people visited SIA website. The overwhelmed website crashed.

hahahah indeed. I was one of them, heh.

      Woah! When ?

We’ve booked flights to Europe for year end. But the trip is full of uncertainties lah. Got to have a very flexible mindset. The costs of the PCR tests for a family are no joke - travel insurance seems expensive too, with very limited Covid-19 cover.

No harm to explore & know what are the necessary precautions & covid protocols expected fr various countries. Covid insurance cover for entire family is very be necessary now. We were originally keen to cross European borders whilst on holiday line we used to but not quite possible now w/o wasting extra quarantine time as SG do not hv VTL with all European countries as yet. Costs incl PCR & extra accommodation costs now.

CNA Steve Chia did it at the German airport, but I wonder where he stayed while waiting for his results?

There is a lab located within the airport to process the swab sample. He wss given various options in terms of waiting time. He chose the shortest one, where the result was out in 30 minutes, albeit at a higher cost.

Thanks, I found out there's also express PCR service at Paris CDG. 1-2 hrs results out. 50 euros for non-French nationals. Rapid PCR I think must top up 20 euros... They however recommend pp to do it in the city 48hr before going to the airport with the cert, else waste your TGV trip if turns out positive. There are 1,339 test centres/pharmacies in Paris alone. Some near train stations.

Anyway, I found this cost table on Shin Min Evening News FB.

Wah so fast doodbug. Must be the travel bug! 😂

You never know when they will suddenly cancel this VTL as the cases are rising, so better do it now or never! 😓 Our miles have been in cold storage for a long time.

The Shin Min table is very useful. The UK should be swopping out the Day 2 PCR requirement with a lateral flow test in the next couple of weeks. That should hopefully redyce the PCR tests to 2.

The availability of VTL flights from most European cities were still ok when I checked yesterday for Economy class, except for alondon which filled up very fast.

Allow unvaxxed people to enter malls in Spore! Spore is a densely-populated island and most goods and services are concentrated in malls to maximise space usage. How can unvaxxed ppl be denied of important, including essential, goods and services for themselves and their families??

Vaxxed people will become unvaxxed over time if they refuse booster shots. Some people have taken the 1st Covid jab but are unable to do so because they suffer from adverse reactions. Women who are pregnant and breast-feeding may be hesitant to take Covid jabs. How about those who are unable to take Covid jabs because of their underlying medical health?? Do Sporeans have to be jabbed for life?
                      ...
I'm just wondering, don't all these unvaxxed people take their compulsory BCG shots when they are in P6? Don't they take regular flu shots every year? If that is OK with them, how come they make such a big fuss with these vaccines? If you don't want to take it, then don't, and just live quietly with the consequences.

Some people are still hesitating because this mRNA vaccination is a relatively new technique and some may doubt whether there is any long term effects on our body.
