See the contrast:

Hong Kong Carrie Lam said even a single fatality from Covid-19 would be a major cause for concern.

In sg, \"do not fear, it will only last between 3-6 months.\" But 3-6 months equal 1000- 2000 deaths. It is like \"crying great wall 哭长城\", where thousands of life perished just to build the great war project. Thousands of years later, people only remembers the tragedy and cruelty of the emperor but remember less about the greatness of the wall.

HK by waiting few months may find new treatments that reduces unnecessary deaths.

Hong Kong is part of China and therefore has to follow the \"zero case\" policy from the Central Government of China. But same as China, this \"zero case\" policy will affect the growth of economy.

Supermarkets in malls cannot go. Anyway I also try not to go supermarkets during this time. 90% of my grocery is ordered from Amazon. The other 10% I just quickly drop by Cold Storage and M&S near closing time to get their clearance stuff.

I thought supermarket got exception..if cant go then can be quite inconvenient..unless nearby got those operating at shop rows.

One day I saw this Jordon van outside a mall ..they hv online shop at Qxxx. Got pork knuckle like quite alike de..you may want to try. Frozen cooked so convenient to prepare.

Supermarkets got exception meh? If a unvaccinated asks to enter Bugis Junction to go to the basement supermarket, I don’t think it will be allowed.

Hub said unvaccinated are allowed to enter shopping malls to go dabao though. 😂
Oops, missed the standalone..

\"Supermarkets that are large standalone stores are exempted from the new requirements. \"

To think from another angle, why unvaccinated ones can’t go here and there, to mix with the vaccinated ones? Aren’t the unvaccinated ones more worry to catch the virus since the vaccinated if infected, are mostly mild or no symptoms?

This is to protect the unvaccinated ones from mixing with the big crowd in shopping malls and exposing themselves to the risk of dining because they may have more severe symptoms than those vaccinated ones.

No lah. It is so that the unvaccinated don't get infected by the vaccinated, and hog up all our limited medical resources.

Yap. MOH can’t leave them carefree o’wise vulnerable & their resources alr stretched far too long alr. Think not just SG, some other countries like New York also tightened regulations for essential work & accessibility to public areas. We just gotta to work things out to help those unvax with practical daily needs. I still think the RCs in each area shld step up with either food distribution or collate orders to facilitate. At the moment, some volunteers helping with delivery but the help is pathetic. I noticed my area only one lady volunteering. She’ll wear out in no time.

but they allow the unvax to dine in upon PET
                    so contradicting
protect the unvax but allow PET.. 😆

protect the unvax but allow PET.. 😆
All in all, this prohibiting the unvaccinated from malls was a mistake, but they cannot lose face by admitting it. So they make exceptions, and these will grow as people complain, and they will quietly change the policy after a while, and find some reason to say that it is no longer necessary.

This is a policy made by people who drive cars, know how to order online, have the means (and strength) to buy larger quantities at a time, who don't mind paying for deliveries...

If they want people to take reponsibility for themselves, then let the unvaccinated make their own decisions. Advise them, frighten them about the consequences, make it as easy as possible for them to get vaccinated if they can, but let them make their choices. It's like telling the elderly to use pedestrian crossings - if they choose not to, do we man every road to stop them?

I just guess some of the businesses are having challenges with the frequent changes and added responsibilities.

If I cook noodles at my stall and a person came ordering dine in..I have to take my head up, ask and see the vaccination status on hp? Or the hawkers share cost employ someone to keep going round the tables to check?

If me, I will just probably just take off my apron and say you all work la 😂
