Thanks for your help slmkhoo, but the threadstarter was a spammer.
See if these help:

Is there any way to screen out the spam bots? Should be easy to filter? Like any new user who posts links should be barred.
I don’t click on links, but others might click and get their phones/computers hacked or whatever. -
Always find those who pretend to posts helpful suggestions but with unrelated topic links. Report so many alr. Tired. If can auto filter & remove that’ll be ideal

Seriously, the best filter is the human. I've been removing at least 10 spammers per day since the start of the month. It's actually quite easy to root out spammers generally. But there are couple which I'm not so sure
Well, those are what I will term as \"conscientious\" spammers. At least they post the right post in the right thread

Thank you for helping keep this a safe place to come in chat. Some post can be alarming & they’re not just pure advertising. Appreciate yr human touch! -
Perhaps, is it possible to disable newbies from posting links?

Some newbies may be posting useful links....not spammers.

They can post it as a message, or even the details of the link. A link is not necessary most of the time. Not having a link protects the majority of active users, as spam links are quite prevalent these days.Zeal mummy\" post_id=\"2042585\" time=\"1634397182\" user_id=\"58173:
Perhaps, is it possible to disable newbies from posting links?
That can be hard because some newbies genuinely want to ask a question or say something. On the other hand, I thought there was some rule in the past that a newbie had to respond to a few threads before posting something new? But then there would be a lot of nonsense responses. I guess having users report the spammers when we spot them is the best solution for now.

That is an interesting idea! We used to stop newbies from creating new threads, until they have at least 5 posts. I will look into this.
