Hi I was downloading the 2021 prelim papers and noticed something strange:

In previous years, ACSJ and ACSP shared a common prelim paper. But in 2021, the 2 school had separate exam papers.

Anyone have any comments on the difference between the 2 schools’ papers? Can I assume that (as per the P1-P5 trend) ACSP papers are more difficult than ACSJ?

Also, any insiders from JS know why the school suddenly decided not to have the same paper as PS?

One possible reason could be the results disparity from having the same exam paper. It could be one school has strong academics than the other, so they want to pitch at appropriate levels.

I understand what U mean. All along JS parents know that their sons would have to buck up by P6 to be on par with PS’ standard, since the prelim was jointly-set (to a higher standard I presumed).

Therefore I was surprised that they deviated from the usual this year. Is it to make the JS prelim results look better/less demoralizing for the boys? :?

What I heard from my boy was due to covid, the teachers could not or did not have time to meet up and coordinate the papers

Thx. In 2020 also got Covid leh (albeit fewer school shutdowns).

Ok seems like I’m reading too much into things.

Was there a change in leaders/management? New Principals or HODs may decide they want their own.

                      No, don’t have.

However, the current beloved principal has been promoted to Cluster Superintendent (South) and will be leaving this December.

So next year we will have a new principal.
