HCI uses MSG - does NYGH use GPA or MSG?
      MSG.
And they need MSG < 4 to promote to sec 2 or sec 3 (in addition to passing both languages).

oh so sama sama with HCI......but MSG>3 in my DS' year, will be streamed to SIP / O level class after Sec 2 / 3.

I heard its more lenient in the subsequent batches. Perhaps due to Covid? I donno.

Maybe they found three sciences, science overload, plus they are not fans of practical. Maybe they are not great with hands on - I am not sure.
But what is apparent to them is that they do not have the same level of interest and passion in the sciences as compared to their triple science classmates.
They do like t heir upper sec class and classmates, but I don't see any love for science lol!
Think it’s important that they find what they are passionate about and stick with it. Jia you!

                Promotion Criteria:
                Sec 2 and 3^
Pass both languages (50%) & MSG of 4.0 or lower
[MSG will be based on computation of all examinable subjects.
Third Language will be included in the computation if it improves the MSG.]

^ Students who do not meet the promotion criteria at the end of Sec 2 will be offered the Structured Integrated Programme (SIP) in Sec 3 and 4.

                So it's MSG of 4, not 3.

I think most girls will agree that math paper 1 was tough this year.. one question was kind of wrongly(or not well) set, creating anxiety in some of the girls, but in the end think the teacher accepted both possible answers.. paper 2 was ok to much relief of the girls.

As for other subjects, don’t hear much complaint so I guess generally similar to past year standard.

How about sec 3 papers this year? Any feedback? My girls said many fail or just pass the sciences and maths but maybe its a small sample size only.

A lot depends on individuals? My DD2 did well for her Sciences. She has not taken back her Math paper yet. But she did badly for her History though, more than half of those who took History in her class scored C. :faint:
