I have a question really just out of curiousity. DHS accepts mostly IP students from year 1, only accept O level students from year 5. What could be the possible reasons that its mean and median are lower than EJC, VJC? And also NYJC which doesnt have IP students?

DHS accepts only IP students from year 1 and O level students from year 5.

The answer to your question is a mathematical / statistical one - its small population base compared to the others. A single student in DHS is worth a lot more in terms of ppt than a student in the other bigger colleges.
To illustrate: 1 out of 20 is 5%, 1 out of 50 is 2% and 1 out of 100 is 1%. The “1” can be represented in many ways. Due to the above, you will also probably see huge YOY swings for schools with smaller population like DHS, RVHS, etc.

The DHS figure includes the JH or Sec 1-4 students. At the JC2 Level in 2020 (A Levels) DHS had 438 students (IP + JAE) and RVHS had 435 students (345 IP + 90 JAE). Based on the recent Sec 1 intakes, I believe each year of JC cohort of both schools will be about 400 students (~300 IP + ~100 JAE) in the future. Hence, the comparable JC figure for DHS and RVHS is around 800 to 875 students.

My dd went to Learners Lodge. The teachers there are all ex-MOE teachers and can see that she really enjoyed Physics under the tutelage of Mr Daniel Yeo. Really need to thank him for helping her get A in her A Levels. I remember she also went for the topical revision workshop that started around end Nov, so you may want to check it out coz it should be happening again. Per month should be about $360 for 4 2-hour sessions. Can fill up their enquiry form if you need more details
