Sorry to intrude; I'm not looking for PH tuition, just kaypohing... Wow, H2 PH at ~$360 for 4 2-hour sessions sounds . Would you happen to know whether the average class size is 10, or more than 15? Thank you!!
...My dd went to Learners Lodge. The teachers there are all ex-MOE teachers... I remember she also went for the topical revision workshop that started around end Nov, so you may want to check it out coz it should be happening again. Per month should be about $360 for 4 2-hour sessions... -

I get paid $375 for a 3hr session per lecture for over 200 students... lol... that's $125 per hour. At $360 for 4x2hr sessions, that's $90 for a 2hr session or $45 per hr. If the class have 10 students, than its $450 per hr. That's good money

For number of people, it depends on which subject and which location. My niece attended one subject where she was the 2nd student, in the beginning of her JC2 year.lowbethany888\" post_id=\"2044989\" time=\"1636082874\" user_id=\"195676:Sorry to intrude; I'm not looking for PH tuition, just kaypohing... The center-tutor doesnt get paid like this, I think. The center keeps the money, the tutor gets paid a salary. But I guess for private tutor, that would be how it works, which is why private tutors prefer 4-pax group tuition than one to one. The fee for each 4-pax could be lower than a 1-to-1, but they still get about 3 times the money for the same number of hours. :siam:

Thank you, ChiefKiasu. Good to hear that you sound well after your booster shot...
Thank you too, MiG
Yes definitely, professionals should be fairly compensated for their time. But, from my kids' perspective, a maximum class size of more than 15 is no different from schools' class size (~25), which I'd not consider at all. Less than 10 is (my) ideal. A centre had in fact quoted me $120+/ hr for a 1-to-1 session (was info-gathering) -

$120+/hr for 1-1 at a center or at home. But then again, whether center or home, both are expensive. There should be a money back guarantee

$120/hr x 2hrs x 50 weeks is $12k for one subject.

Thanks. I was a bit groggy yesterday, not because of my shot but because I had a bad night. Refreshed now and everything seems ok.

$120 for a 1-1 session sounds like a good deal. Maybe you can let us know about the quality after you try? -
@MiG. $120+/hr for 1-1 at a center. I was looking for personal consultation to improve a KI essay (which I was told is trickier than an extended essay?)
@ChiefKiasu. Yes, $120+ for a 1-1 session Does sound reasonabe, given the tutor's educational qualifications & experience.
We didn't use the service in the end -
Hi allοΌ
