Poor lions joining we all now..
So lions will sniffle too? What are the symptoms? I'll bet it's nothing to them.

To them is nothing. Worst scenario would be like what the Chinese did to the infected domestic cats. The main concern is covid can cross species very easily opening up more chances to pickup new adaptations.... that makes them more deadly and effective infecting humans. In layman terms, expect this drag into decades and possibly mandatory cyclical 6-12mths vaccinations.

ChiefKS's point was the new recommendations are as good as saying outbound VTLs from SIN are now being banned from entering EU, but Liew's e.g. of that German friend which suggested he could be banned by his govt/disembarkation point to get on SIN-bound flights was not correct. As of now, he won't.

Germany may or may not impose PCR or ART on inbound visitors in the coming weeks as they are entering a 5th wave, but no one knows for sure. So far they have only mentioned 5 days isolation for unvaccinated kids. However, Netherlands has introduced PDTs: 48h PCR or 24h ART for inbound visitors regardless of one's vac status. Italy and ROK have all the while included PDTs for entry.

It's interesting that the council wrote, \"The criteria to determine the third countries for which the current travel restriction should be lifted were updated on 20 May 2021. They cover the epidemiological situation and overall response to COVID-19, as well as the reliability of the available information and data sources. Reciprocity should also be taken into account on a case by case basis.\"

I've always found our ''uniquely Singapore'' way of presenting our infection rate questionable (using ratio of past week's nos vs the week before's). It looks good on paper now - 0.82, 0.88, etc all below 1.0. But is it reliable in the eyes of the Europeans?

Perhaps the MTF needed some form of unorthodox mathematical justification to relax the 2pax dine-in restrictions and to include 3 more VTLs. If they'd relied on R effective no, which the rest of the academic world and developed health jurisdictions have, the public might ask why didn't you stooges reopen earlier as we've had a similar R no. range for weeks and months ago.

          As of now, Germany's R is 1.18, France 1.17, Italy 1.17, Denmark 1.19, Netherlands 1.23, Spain 1.16, Switzerland 1.22.
No wonder they look at our 自嗨自爽自欺欺人 ''0.8x'' with curiosity. Even lions can be infected in the Lion City. :slapshead:

Dd2 asked me how they test the lions..I say don't know maybe jab let them sleep then swab?

So isolate for 72hrs then ART test if -ve can go back to work?
I read that it is from the lions’ faecal matter.

Transmission fr animals to humans reported to be very low chance. 5 animals quarantined under The World Health Organisation for Animal Health advisory.

Now sure what the survival rate for these animals is if they catch covid. They will most likely die?

but aren't you curious how they got it? Certainly there was social distancing between human and them and any contact between the zookeepers and them would be transient.

Now, what if it's not these lions but our baby panda which is having more interaction with our zookeepers. And the pandas donch even belong to us.

Seems like animals are often asymptomatic and don't get very sick.

😂 I wondered how come they are so free... even animals also want to test. Apparently, they did it only after the poor lions fell sick. With 3 human workers infected already, so I guess the culprit is that asymptomatic fellow. So humans can give animals COVID. They say animals cannot give humans covid? How come? I'm :skeptical:
