      1. The percentage reserved for non-affiliates is 20%[/quote]
As for part 1. it was a typing mistake on the numerals. I think both of you know what I mean, and the reasoning is consistent.

Ah I see. VS is located pretty far away from CHS, so I wouldn’t have thought it was a contender (depends on the student’s home I suppose).

It’s pretty hard to guess people’s choices isn’t it.

Yes, the alumni seems to be all over Singapore.

Assuming CHS O and ACS(I) O are not close to the 80% cap, then there should be no ballot for affiliates that hit the AMR (CHS = 12 or better, ACS(I) = 13 or better) as everyone can be accepted. Ballot for affiliates will only occur if at some score (AMR or better) the school is up against the 80% cap.

However many spaces were not taken up by qualifying affiliates should then be available for non-affiliates (not just the 20%). I.e. the number of spaces taken up by affiliates and thus the number of spaces available for non-affiliates were both needed to run the simulation and determine the non-affiliated AL COP.

Whether the same number of spaces will be available for non-affiliates this year due to changes in scoring and/or changes in choice is unknown. If I score AL9 here, I will just put whichever school I want more first and hope for the best, as I think it is difficult to know the exact odds (either of the schools could move +/- 1 too, in which case you could be easily in or no chance).

How is life in cat high O? How are the teachers there? How many O and IP classes are there?

Subject based banding will be implemented from 2024 onwards. How will it work then?

That would be easy if there is a school you want more. In which case, you wont even be trying to find out so many things. Because afteralll there is one you like a bit better.

The problem comes when you are indifferent, when you dont mind one or the other, it becomes difficult. Your main priority is just to put the one with the higher chance. I am guessing that is what is happening here.

I dont think sbb is relevant for this school.

I can’t answer the first half, but regarding the full SBB, definitely does not apply to CHS.

FSBB only affects the secondary schools that have Express + NA (+NT) streams (and teachers who teach those streams).

Yes, this is true. There is actually no specific preference of these 2 schools, both schools are great! 🙂
Then I thought maybe by knowing the OP cohort intake size multiply by the 20% for non-affiliated pupils, then I can judge which school stands higher chance (eg more vacancies available for non-affiliated).
After seeing some of the replies, this also seems not a very reliable indicator to helpsin making the order choice.
Guess at the end, if my DS really gets AL9, would have to throw coin to decide.. LOL
