      Hi Parents

please advise me. I am looking to use my parent's address for registration in Phase 2C, understand she will fall under the 1 to 2km group. The balloting history for the school is 0.30 likely for 1 to 2km. If my girl does not get in, I think there are none in the area I am keen on and will thus fall back to my own address and sch in the vicinity. I have this question:
      1. Are we allowed to just swop address to use at say, at Phase 2C I use parent address. If i do not get a seat, i use my own address at Phase 2C(S)?

      Thank you
Yes. You are allowed to swap addresses between Phases as long as you commit to staying put for 30 months from 30 June. But I think you need to settle the caretaker's address asap as it is a convoluted process that goes through lots of vetting.

Not too sure if we are allowed? On MOE website the 30-month stay requirement is from 30 June 2021 for this year.

\"MOE recognises that some families are unable to remain at the address used for registration for the entire duration of the child's primary school studies. Even so, a child who gains priority admission through their distance category is required to reside at the address used for registration for at least 30 months from the start of the P1 Registration Exercise on 30 June 2021.

If the 30-month stay condition is not met, MOE reserves the right to transfer the child to another school with vacancies, as the priority admission to the first school was based on the declared address used for registration.\"

That notice is for parents AFTER they have gotten their kid in the school. The user is asking what happens BEFORE they can secure a place for their child.

Understood, correct me if I'm wrong, we need to apply for the school using our registered address as on 30 June 2021. Meaning even if you change your address after 30 June 2021 you can't use it? Also even though the notice is for after getting in it's telling us you need to use the address as on 30 June 2021. Again my interpretation may be wrong.

I'm confused. Are you saying you need to register 1 YEAR before P1 Registration? That's new to me.

I mean using this year as reference. What I quoted from MOE website is for this year registration so the date shown is 30 June 2021. For next year will most probably be 30 June 2022

I think it should be this way.

If you stay at Bt Batok and your parents stay at Clementi and your parents are caregivers of the child.
The child is P1 in 2022
You can use Clementi in 2C as SD, and if you get in due to distance, you need to make sure the Clementi is valid from 30/6/2021 to 31/12/2023.

If you fail to get in, using Clementi. You can use Bt Batok for 2CS, as that is where you stay. And if you get in due to distance, you need to make sure Bt Batok is valid from 30/6/2021 to 31/12/2023.

Therefore, the answer is yes, you can use a different address in this manner.

                  Method 2
However, if you plan to use Clementi as your nric address, meaning you move in with your parents (assuming it is a big house with enough space). And then you go for 2C using Clementi, and fail to get in. 2C is in August 2021.

After that you change your nric address to Bt Batok and use Bt Batok for 2CS, and get in due to distance. In this case, your nric from Bt Batok is not from 30/6/2021, so I dont think you can use a different address in this manner.

This is how I would interpret that MOE paragraph. In reality, I dont know know if anyone has done Method 2.

                      To add.

Using Method 2, after the change of nric to Bt Batok for 2CS, if successful in getting a place in 2CS school and it is a shoo in without balloting, then I think it is fine.

I don't think the system will reflect your new address that was changed in August?
