From last year result, AL6 (M) can enter any of the top schools, how about this year?

Indicative COP for 2020 is based on the PSLE result of the actual last student, however it's important to note that last year S1 application pattern is still based on t-score result, which means there are possibly many AL6 students who didnt apply for AL6 COP school because their t-score is below T-score COP.

So for this year, there may be many more such AL6 students vying for the top IP schools such as RGS and RI and this could lead to a higher risk for balloting.

      For those balloted out of
( RI & RGS / HCI & NYGH) at the Cut-off point this year,
forsee that they will form a long queue, to appeal

          Hi all,

Am in dilemma and need your kind advice.

My son PSLE result is 25 with a choice of NA or NT. The choices of school is not many in Tampines given his score is 25 if he is to choose NA stream.
The S1, we either have to choose NA or NT.
If we choose NA, meaning the school choices must be NA which now we only have 3 schools that is applicable. How do I choose the remaining schools then? What will happen if the remaining schools we put all the list that he is eligible more for NT??
          Will it works that way??

If we choose NT, definitely we have more choices.

          Pls advise

My girl has AL6M, if we put RGS as 1st choice and Nanyang as 2nd, is this safe?
If ESIS is indeed 5, with AL6M it would be very risky to put RGS as first choice and NYGH as second choice. If there are many AL6M who put NYGH as 1st choice, your DD may not get into either school.

Here is the HCI appeal form. Believe this is similar to what they had last year; one can get a sense of the additional information they are looking for (besides matching the COP).

                  Hi Parents,

I am a mom of a boy who took PSLE last year. There were some who asked about whether AL6 can get into certain top schools. There is one interesting point to note that usually 10 classes of 30-31 students are allocated to each school, which means the intake is about 300+.
Please do not forget that there are DSA students who are already confirmed enrolment. Which mean the vacancies could be easily lesser than 300 depending on the number of CCAs these schools have. Some schools can take in more than 100-150 per cohort (from sports to music to art…)
So what I am advising is 2nd and 3rd choice will be very important. Hope this helps.

Noooo! Lots of AL4 n 5 this year. Will get in first. Better choose another school. As both these top tier schools will get filled with AL 4 n 5.

Hi, for NA 25, near East side can choose:

                      - Geylang Methodist Secondary School (Aljunied MRT)
                      - Changkat Changi Secondary (Simei MRT)
                      - Ngee Ann Secondary (Tampines East MRT)
                      - Manjusri Secondary (Ubi MRT)
                      - Broadrick Secondary (Dakota MRT)
                      - Pasir Ris Crest
                      - Bedok South Secondary
                      - Tampines Secondary
                      - Manjusri Secondary
                      - Damai Secondary
                      - East Spring Secondary
                      - Junyuan Secondary
                      - Loyang View Secondary
                      - Springfield Secondary

If have direct MRT or direct bus, should choose those cos save time and money.

Unless your son really prefer NT stream.

possible that Cut off point this year for RGS is 5, while that for NYGH is 6 (M) ?
