Wondering.. if at AL5, I put RGS as first choice and MGS as second and RGS goes for balloting at 5 and MGS at 6, then will they make me ballot for RGS or offer me MGS straightaway. If RGS, and I lose ballot then MGS place will be lost as well? If MGS, then on what basis will they decide who to give their second preference. Sorry I am very confused.🤔

In this case, the S1 posting will have to clear all the AL5 students first, regardless of choice order before moving to AL6 students.

Hi, if you mention your home location (North/Northeast/East/West/Northwest) and your nearest MRT station, I can provide you with suggestions that are feasible. Don’t stress, hug your son first & we can figure out the options together.

For AL5 is will be around 261-262 and above.

- Nan Hua (11D)
- Chung Cheng High Main (11M)
- Nan Chiau High School (11M)
- Anglican High School (11P)
- Maris Stella High (12) - provided you are a boy!

Your 2nd-6th choices can be non-SAP schools near your home, in the range 12 all the way down to 18 respectively, that should provide a good safety net.

AL6 in 2020 is 257 and above. AL5 should be around 261 or 262 and above.

For RGS, AL6 balloting may be risky if you ask me because in 2020, 260 COP pretty close to AL5.

How come I feel the new system make the entry to top school even harder… in the old system, if have a few subject close to the top mark… can bring up the total score… now miss by some narrow marginsin each AL bands, can make a big difference…
