My girl has AL6M, if we put RGS as 1st choice and Nanyang as 2nd, is this safe?

Noooo! Lots of AL4 n 5 this year. Will get in first. Better choose another school. As both these top tier schools will get filled with AL 4 n 5.

I noticed that too! My daughter overall AL6. Quite a number of her classmates scored overall AL4 or AL5. Worried that my daughter may need balloting to enter her dream school.

Hi
My Girl is PR and Score AL10
is it safe to Select An affiliated school, (for mine No affiliation), if COP is 9 to 11 for Non affilation, is it safe to select as choice 1, Bit worried as She is PR, might Lose out in Tie Breaker!
You can put as first choice if your girl wants it. First choice matters a lot! The only school that comes close to your mentioned COP range - COP is 9 to 11 for Non affilation is Paya Lebar Methodist Girls’ School (Secondary) AL 8 - 11.

Since the results are out, any sense on whether this year’s cohort did better or worse than last year?
AL 5 is EEIS cut off means AL 6 will likely need to ballot for the last seat based on the criteria if there is a tie.

It seems that the criteria for ESIS has been changed from the previous years. Below os from moe website. I guess that students who got ESIS this time are those admitted to independent school through DSA.
_‐----------------------------------
\t
Awarded to the top one-third of students admitted to independent schools by PSLE score.

Students who meet the ESIS cut-off score and are admitted to independent schools under the Direct School Admission Exercise will also be offered the ESIS.

Actually AL5 may not be the cut off, cos ESIS letter may had been given to those who had been confirmed via DSA to an independent school. My rationale is that only those confirmed thru DSA going to Indep. schools got offered the scholarship first. need someone who's successful in dsa to an independent school and who scored AL6 to confirm if he/she got the scholarship too. other AL6s still need to go through posting to be placed in an indep. school. maybe by then , they will send out the eligibility letters. ESIS is meant for those attending indep schools only
If the child is eligible for ESIS, the child will be informed on PSLE results day, NOT upon posting to independent school. The part about DSA is just saying that regardless whether the child enters the independent school via S1 posting or DSA, the child will be eligible for ESIS as long as the results meet the ESIS cut off.

Guangyang Primary School is merging with Townsville Primary School.

Guangyang Secondary is not merging with another secondary school in the near future because it has merged with Braddell-Westlake Secondary School in 2006.

There are some new BTOs being built in Bishan near the train station too so I foresee there is demand for Guangyang Sec in the future.

You are welcome.

I did some research on Guangyang Sec and found out that the school starts lessons at a later timing and 2 breaks (recess and lunch) are given to pupils each day.

Benefits of Later School Starts Time

Parents may want to check out the timetable of the other secondary schools. Not all secondary schools provide 2 breaks (recess and lunch) in between lessons.
