      Hi,

I need some urgent advice before I confirm my selection for secondary schools.
Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

My DD score is AL14 and we are staying in the south side.
She likes to go to co-ed school and SAP (unfortunately she didn’t do well for this psle)
and we have to arrange our option as follow.

      1) Tanjong Katong Sec - (14)
      2) Geylang Methodist School - (15)
      3) Clementi Town Sec - (14)
      4) Gan Eng Seng Sec - (15)
      5) Queensway Sec - (17)
      6) Kent Ridge Sec - (19)

I would like to check if it’s ok to have the first and second choice go for school with higher cop.
Her dream school is Chung cheng High (11M) and Anglican High (12P). Should we take the risk to add it into our 1st and 2nd choice? Is there better options for us to improve the list we had?

Thank you and hope to have some advice soon.

Keeping the affiliated ACJC (Anglo Chinese Junior College to GMSS (Geylang Methodist Secondary School) in mind, it may be useful to have a backup affiliated JC if your DD has intention to pursue JC (junior college) in future. Of course, your DD can choose not to go ACJC but other JC.

The regrets experienced by some parents who did not realise how important affilation was when choosing primary school 6 years back will bring to mind at this moment to have a backup affiliated JC with the secondary school.

Choose the first choice wisely with AL14.

Hi. We are living in the West Coast area. My daughter PSLE got AL8. She is hesitating which school to apply - between RVHS or Nanhua High. Can parents here help to give some thoughts and comments? Thanks in advance!

Thanks much parents for your advice. My worry is also the overall seems much better than last year and the cop may change so Pierce is really botherline cop🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
Thinking of Bartley Sec sch too...heard review mot bad too
Do you think a student will request a transfer end of Sec 1 from Bartley Sec to Pierce Sec or Pierce Sec to Bartley Sec ?

Perhaps due to travelling time and long CCA hours ending by 6.30pm, and school prestige deemed by parents.

Both are good schools. Choose the one nearer.

I can only suggest to you to consider the emotional aspects and feelings of your child and leave the decision-making to your child regarding the child’s first choice.

Share your thoughts with your child and I’m sure your child will do the same too.

Guiding your child to make decision is never easy. There may be more decisions for your child to make in future such as choice of CCA and Sec 3 subjects combinations.
