Hi all, my girl got AL5M, if we put RGS as her first choice will it be safe? Been hearing alot of AL4s already. If AL5, is there a chance for balloting? Or is there a good chance she will get in?

What about the badge? Like accessories, badges are also aesthetically impt.
A very valid concern and important factor to take into consideration. You want to look nice in your uniform so that you can learn wellMerlionInGermany\" post_id=\"2048310\" time=\"1637832949\" user_id=\"2964:

High chance of getting in, safe. I believe ballot would happen for AL6. All the best and hope your girl gets her ideal choice.

Agree with you all, putting it as first choice will give you the best chance. All the best and hope your child gets her ideal school!
Same dilemma as myself and my daughter. Her dream school is RGS.siokhoon\" post_id=\"2048369\" time=\"1637843063\" user_id=\"122732:
My girl has AL6M, am thinking of this order:
1. RGS (COP = 6)
2. NYG (COP = 7M)
3. St Nick IP (COP = 7M)
4. NJC (COP = 7)
5. SCGS (COP =
6. Dunman / Cedar Girl (COP =
She is only interested in RGS so though chance of balloting is high, I think should at least try. And I am prepared that NYG will also have no chance.
Will she be safe for St Nick / NJC?
From what I understand from the experts here, having a combined AL score of 6 will most likely mean a high chance of undergoing the ballot for RGS. So in order to make the odds in our favor, we have to put RGS as first choice.
NYGH will also be our 2nd choice too! :xedfingers: -

Hi SG_KP1
Hi and congrats. Personally, with 7(M) I think RVHS is quite safe (M will help in the queuing despite being 3rd choice). Maybe not bulletproof (small risk as you say) but if you are also OK with 5th and 6th choice should something strange happen I would still suggest leaving 1st and 2nd choice as is. Good luck!SpongyBobs\" post_id=\"2048358\" time=\"1637841488\" user_id=\"196018:
A daddy with boy getting AL7(M), staying in CCK area..
Any advise if we try following options? (using 2020 indicative COP)
1. HCI : 7(M)
2. ACS(I) IP : 7
3. RVHS : 9(D)
4. ACS(I) EXP : 9
5. BP Gov High : 11
6. Nan Hua High : 11(D)
What would the risk of RVHS as fallback plan in 3rd choice for AL7(M)? Little devil kind of whispering to me that there is small risk, given how many AL4/5/6 out there. Should we bump RVHS to 2nd choice?
BP Gov High & Nan Hua High are toss up, either can be 5th or 6th, as they are just plan C, and confidence level is high.
Why reading your reply made me feel that we are not aggressive enough? Haha..
Nevermind, we still have 5 days till 30th. Will give all the time to my boy to pick his choices.
By the way, I noticed some parents here trying to guess ESIS COP. I was tinkering around ACS(I) admission chatbot. In there, it is stated that ESIS COP for 2022 intake is AL5. -

If it is her dream school, put it as her first choice. As putting it as first choice will give you the best chance.
I feel that even if balloted out, you can appeal if the cut off is 6. It is also safe for NYGH if 6M refers to 6 with a merit for HCL.
All the best and hope your child gets her ideal school! -

Jokes aside, as our sonβs sch pants are white, my dw made sure all his undies are white too. She doesnβt want him to stand out in the wrong way. So yah, uniform colours and designs are really impt. -

Thank you for weighing in. We have NJC at our original list, as boy likes the idea of boarding opportunity (he found out after listening to their eOpen House).
We listed it down after thinking that if we do not get into ACS(I) IP with AL7(M) in second choice (either due to balloting or COP), chances are we will not be getting into NJC in 3rd choice as well. So, decision making becomes which one to put in 2nd choice between ACS(I) IP and NJC. ACS(I) nudged in because it offers dual-track.
But well, as SG KP1 highlighted, maybe we should be more confident and shift plan B (RVHS) to 4th choice, and keep only either one of BP Gov High or Nan Hua High as plan C in 6th choice.
Gotta run it together again with mummy & boy.. -

If i have to choose between njc and ac, I will go with ac. A bigger cohort offers more options in everything, β cca, programmes, subject combinations etc
