are you able to find out what were the t-score COP for the above 3 schools?
Dear All,
Need some advice. My DS got 11P for his PSLE result. He is considering the following schools:
First choice: Chung Cheng Main (6M - 11M)
2nd Choice: Nan Chiau (4M - 11M)
3rd Choice: Maris Stella (7M - 12)
Will he have a chance to get in his first 2 choices?
Thank you for the advice. -

Hi Parents. What’s the chances for AL8 to RVHS and NHHS? Thanks for your advice!

If you put either as first choice, sure can get in.

But are u sure your child will be happy to do HCL in secondary school? -

Last year COP for both RGS and NYHS = 261 but why the AL COP is 6 and 7M respectively and not both 6? Is 7M due to affiliation and we should assume 6 for non affiliated kids?
This is because some of those who entered nygh would have added the 1-3 points for HCL, meaning their t score before HCL bonus point could be as low as 258. -

Oh yes, I should have thought of it!
There can be a few reasons for that. The most obvious one is simply the last student who admitted to NYGH is 261 t-scores, but AL7 AL score.siokhoon\" post_id=\"2048654\" time=\"1637908988\" user_id=\"122732:

e.g. AL 1 1 2, 3 or AL 1 1 1 4. But the overall t-score is high because AL1 covers from 90 to 100.
if a AL7 student score 99 99 99 79, his or her t-score will be around 276
FYI, MGS 257 = AL6 -

I was wondering how affiliation works under the new AL system. Thanks for clarifying.
I think you should have been informed about the AMR. If the AMR is 8M, then you put nygh as first choice, and the total number of nyps who put nygh as first choice is within the quota, then you should get in. If quota set aside for nyps who put nygh as first choice, is filled by 8D and better, then you will not get in.JanelleTan\" post_id=\"2048607\" time=\"1637902673\" user_id=\"162702:
My daughter scored 8(M) and has affliation to NYGH whose indicative COP is 8(M) for affliated students. May i ask what are her chances? Do affliated students get priority over other students who scored better AL scores? Appreciate any insights.
Do affliated students get priority over other students who scored better AL scores?
Nygh sets aside a fixed number of vacancies for the nyps students, this number is according to the percentage dictated by MOE. This percentage thing is the same as 2019 and 2020 psle.
Would affiliated schools like St Nicks OP, Catholic High OP, Paya Lebar Methodist, etc. use the same system?
That is, set aside a fixed percentage dictated by MOE for affiliated students, and not admit all students who meet the indicative affiliated COP, unless number of affiliated students who choose the sec school < MOE quota? -

Interesting, but confusing problem. It doesn't make much sense for the local student to get VS since that is not what he wants. I thought the tie-breakers come into play only when the 2 students have the same schools at the same priority level? ie. both of them specify VS as their 1st choice??
Someone above just made a good pt that the last student determines the COP. In this case, VS COP is 8 (it doesn’t matter what’s DHS COP). The local student will get VS (citizenship higher priority than order of choices) while foreign student will go to DHS.brfish\" post_id=\"2048465\" time=\"1637855626\" user_id=\"102306:
I came up with a simpler example.
Suppose two students, one local and one foreigner, competing for last seat in Dunman High and Victoria.
The foreigner has AL 8D and his choices are
1. Victoria IP
2. Dunman High
The local student has AL 8M and his choices are
1. Dunman High
2. Victoria
Who goes to which school?
From Dunman High perspective, 8D is better than 8M so 8D should get it. From Victoria perspective, local student has priority so the local student should get it.
Or, MOE can let both students go to their first choice and everyone is happy
Edit: see below for S1 posting priority

2nd Choice: Nan Chiau (4M - 11M) |244
3rd Choice: Maris Stella (7M - 12) |239[/quote]The lowest possible score band for AL11 is AL 1+1+3+6 (90 90 80 45) or approx t-score of 224 (this is the extreme case). In less extreme cases it will be around 235-239.
If 2020 COP for 1st and 2nd choice is 244 , we can therefore expect students with t-score below 244 to be vying for the same school with AL11.
If they are SAP schools, AL11(P) will rank behind AL11(M). For this reason, it may be advisable to put Maris Stella as 2nd choice in case MS COP got bumped up to AL11.
