Any chance to get into TJC with AL11?

DD was thinking of trying her luck.

TJC cop is AL9.

Good day to all parents! I was wondering if I could share a google form here for current secondary school students. Each year, parents have a headache trying to search for reviews of secondary school so if there could be a google form for secondary students to fill out and the answers could be shared with parents, I wonder if that would be helpful.

Can I have some advice on whether choices 1 & 2 are reasonable and stand some chance?

TJC 2020 COP was 250 or AL9.

In t-score term, AL9 is around 245 and above, while AL11 is around 235 and above.

Even at AL9, the balloting risk may already be very high because now applicants with t-score as low as 235 (if there is a AL6 subject) can apply to TJC

So my recommendation is dont waste your first choice.

2020 NYGH COP was 259+2 or AL7(M).

Why 259 is AL7 and not AL6, that is a little puzzling because RI 259 and MGS 257 were both AL6.

So for 2021, it's highly possible that NYGH may be bumped up to AL6 because AL6 with lower t-score of say 257 will be placed ahead of A7(D)

Why NYGH indicative COP is AL7(M) and not AL6 is because under the t score system, SAP school COP includes HCL bonus. This means NYGH 259 includes 256+3, 257+2, 258+1 and 259+0. But under the AL system, no more HCL bonus included in the AL scores, only priority admission within the same AL. So it explains why NYGH indicative AL cop is AL7 (min=256+3).

But her 2nd choice is DHS which is SAP school. So her 7D would be ahead of all the rest of 7's. It's not likely that COP for DHS would be 6 so I'd say 7D is very safe for DHS.

In that scenario, if she prefers NYGH, I'd say putting it as 1st choice to try out her luck won't do any harm.
