Hi, I hv one urgent query pls. My child scored AL4 in psle and also got confirmed offer from NUSH today through SIE. We are at foreigner status, shall we wait for the S1 posting outcome( RGS is option 1 in S1 posting) or shall go with NUSH. Which should be the better choice. Thank you🙏
      a) AL4 will certainly get you to RGS
      b) Both schools have very different culture
      c) RGS is a girls school while NUSH co-ed
      d) RGS has a much longer history hence they have a long list of well-known alumnae
      f) School fees for both schools are very similar
      g) A-level vs Diploma

Hi there! My girl got AL12 for her PSLE this year and we are planning to enrol her into CHIJ St Theresa’s Convent.

May I ask if there are any parents who have more information on this schooll? Like how is the school’s environment and the students’s well being? Coz I have been trying to gather more information but apparently there is not much discussion on this school. Thanks in advance!

Hi, does anyone know the sec 1 enrolment for Saint Nicks O level for non-affiliated student?
There are 5 OP classes next year. Both my girls are in St Nicks, younger one in P6 this year. Based on my observation, St Nicks affiliates usually do not max out on the 80%.

Anybody else feel that MOE should let parents have a \"pre-lim\" posting, to get good gauge of ground sentiments before the real thing?

Actually, I like this idea! Especially since this is the first year...
But wait. How to simulate the balloting? You might get a different result the next time 😂

              Right.. Didn't think of that.

How about this? Make it like Primary School Registration Exercise. In the span of a week, update the \"status\" at the end of each day. This will be helpful for students achieving borderline AL to pull out if the dream school balloting chance is low, or if he/she has missed the cut-off.

As for me, I would prefer RGS. The path of NUSH, is towards science engineering. Example, If your child wanted to be a lawyer... NUSH is not your choice. After all it depends on what your child's dream is. If not dreams decided yet, RGS is still an open option.

At the end of the day, it is not about the parents but the child. Where would she like to be? Both NUSH and RGS are very good schools. NUSH has alumni who went on to read law and other non-S&T disciplines at top universities overseas, and locally. Congrats on securing a spot via SIE at NUSH![/quote]Yup, after all is about the child. RGS will be more of all rounder. NUSH will be more on Math and science. I am not saying NUSH will not have a lawyer, but if NUSH is focusing on math and science, what about child is interested beside math and science. NUSH narrow down to certain extent. If my child still don't know which path she is going, why should I narrow down to a school which already trying to direct the child path.
For AL4 confirm get into RGS. Even if you put it at the sixth choice.
                Congrats, achieve AL4.

Even you have AL4 in third choice, u cannot even replace AL6 in those who chooses RGS in 1st or 2nd choice. Use your choice wisely. This is unlike last year.

Now, that's thinking! I think all we need to do is to warn parents that their choices will result in them balloting, and then giving them a chance to say yes or no, before the ballot, or choose another school that doesn't need balloting. That way, people will go in with their eyes open.
