True jedamum, probably only if you have willing and suitable help from relatives…

In my teens my cousins used to ‘domepang’ their kiddos with my mum.
My mum looked forward to help out cause she could spare the time and I do not have any sibling.

ya lor...when a child is sick, i doubt the parents would have the mood to work...I dunno, me for sure dun have the mood to work...initially, it's best not to take leave, still under probation leh...

i guess i'm the type who would go for part time...put child in sch morning, he goes sch, I go work, then afternoon, go back together...hahah...how nice...but where to get such good deal...usually, people would work for few years in a company, then when necessary, go part time (after a child was born, etc)...

or lagi best, work at home...:)

i agree that only those with 'connections' can get good part time lobang - my ex-coy had approached me for such arrangement, but i am not ready to resume work yet...and also i trust that my brain already all rusty, so not as confident as before.... 😞 ....dh said he will only support if his involvement at home is status quo - ie don't expect him to take leave if the kids are sick etc.
if financial is not an issue, other suitable part time or work from home job is like Insurance line or Property agent line lor.

my dh always nag at me saying that 'own kids, own self take care' (in mandarin); i am not supposed to get upset (openly ie) if his mum reject helping us cos i am not supposed to expect them to help; if they help, it is a bonus. just like 2 weeks back when we need to meet up with the ID to discuss our house renovation, cos ds2 has short attention span, we worried that he may not be able to sit throughout our discussion. but my MIL wanted us to bring along ds2 and she was only willing to let us let ds1 stay at home with them although my FIL was not working that day. even my ds1 was like :? as to what's the issue of keeping didi at home? my dh quite upset and told me that we should solve our own problems.

if situation dictates that you need to stay as SAHM, just try to make the best out of it lor.

                Mommilicious:
                Hi Fettuccine,

                Fettuccine:

His first year in school had quite a few of bully issues, so I had a stressful time.

What kind of bully issues? Can share?
                Fettuccine:
In my son's school, I was shocked by the math standards at P1 mid year exam. I don't think his previous kindergartens had ever prepared him for creative thinking skills.
Is your son studying in one of the top school?

                Hi Mommilicious,

Sorry for the late reply, been \"extra\" busy with kids 🙂

                Bully issues
                - There were some bully problems when son was in P1. A kid actually love to pick on him and say abusive words to him.

                - Bully on school bus. Son refused to take school bus and, became depressed, and noticeably too when all his lunch boxes came home intact. The problem was resolved after stopped taking the school bus as the bully is on the same bus route home.

                Math standard in school
                - Currently son is in Ngee Ann Primary. I had also been too confident and relax with son, thinking he is well prepared for primary one. And thinking Ngee Ann a neighborhood school should be quite all right. After SA1, it made me sit up and realize the P1 math is not just the regular p1 math. The standard can be comparable to top schools SA1, including this year's. The math mock test is even more difficult. I don't know, maybe to make the students feel better at SA1 or to sift out the top ones.

Sorry if off track a little! 🙂

I also dun understand why your MIL can't put your ds2 at home?? :?

I think he is k2 or p1 right? should be easier to handle...that means my FIL is still quite good lor, he still allow ds2 to stay with him for few hrs...i should be grateful to that...hahah

these days, we also need to meet up with my contractor to discuss about the reno works. and I dun have a choice, I often bring ds2 along cos no helper...while ds1 at school...but now sch holiday,no choice...

                        buds:
                        Hi HappyAvon, congrats! :celebrate:

And an official :welcome: to Club SAHM. 😉

I suppose it will be more fun for you cos
you have only one child to care for at the
moment, unlike some of us SAHMs here..

The novelty does wear off a bit when the
going gets routine. So, setting time off for
yourself will definitely help get away from
the staying home stress. Like fettucine, i
have the nagging syndrome unlike when
i was in the workforce.

Less children in the house, less mess to
clear up = less nagging. 😉

Aniwaes, have fun new stay home momma! 😉

Guess we'll be seeing you here more often.
Hello Buds, thanks ! Youre right...me only got one precious princess and not so difficult to manage....But my maid is in trouble...ever since Im staying at home, she had been unusually busy doing the housework....and the house is alot cleaner than last time...probably when the last time i was working, she could be sleeping hor...kekeke  The happiest people now at home are my princess and DH....more time for the family and i can enjoy doing things I like.. 😉

Hope alls well with your pregnancy huh?? Enjoy and take good care....
