The fact is - linking t score with AL is inconclusive and no possibility of being correct. Parents in other forum topics (and maybe this one too) has pointed out the inaccuracies. For those who understands the t score calculation, we all know it is meaningless to compare one year’s t score with the other years’, let alone using t score (or “so called” lowest possible t score) to compare or link AL scores and it’s corresponding chances of getting into a school. Not going to comment further. Agree that we should all move forward and embrace the new AL. Do hope parents who are trying to understand the new AL system are discerning enough.
The fact is, you may be right, but who cares about t-scores now?? By prolonging this discussion, you are destroying MOE's efforts in shifting the public consciousness to AL-scores. It is strange you are doing this, given your great respect for MOE. -

I wonder anyone dared to apply MGS Ip as its indicative cutoff was AL6 with AL7 and got admission into it.
confirm at least 1 person applied to MGS IP with AL7 because the COP is now AL7 -

Sometimes it may be not the school culture as discussed in another thread, from the discussion here, we can observe parents with different level of Emotional Intelligence (EQ).

My assessment on RGS using historical t score of 260 has been spot on as many parents in RGS forum have expressed their disappointment that their DD didn’t managed to get into RGS with AL6.
As I have explained before RGS 2020 t-score cop of 260 very close to AL5 range.
The outcome of the S1 posting is the most important validation. -

I for one don't see what's so 'spot on' about this prediction. It's not wrong, but it's nothing more than we already knew.

MOE's simulation already showed RGC COP as AL6, which means the last student admitted had AL6, which also means (most likely) other AL6 students didn't get in. This further means under the new AL system, balloting will take place at AL6. And that's exactly what happened. We knew some AL6 students would be balloted out from the get-go using MOE data!
If your analysis (using historical t-score) can tell us anything additional -- for example, the % of AL6 students got balloted in/out -- then that's helpful. Without that, historical t-score adds nothing to this discussion. -
You can try by asking around to see how many KSP here have succeeded in getting their own child to rgs with AL6.

Yes it has become rather clear that at the indicative AL, a ballot situation will happen. Singaporeans shouldn’t fear balloting (esp for their dream schools) as they will have priority, based on citizenship, as long as they meet the AL cut off. I would think twice if I were a PR or foreigner and would avoid a ballot situation.

But if I were one of next batch parents, I doubt I would do the same as MGS has always been a hot favorite. Next year its COP could just move up back to AL6.
The reason why I think MGS COP dropped to AL7 this time round could be due to its affiliated MGS primary school girls not doing as well this year (hearsay from a MGS mummy whose DD didn’t do well).
