As Chief mentioned, FWIW = For What It's Worth...
Hi, thank you very much for the reply. May I know what FWIW is pls? I am thinking the teachers might want to use the digital versions as the students will be buying personal learning devices.
What I mean to say is I think the recommended Physics and Chem books are the standard Upper Sec Pure Physics and Chem books, so whether bought now or later, they will likely be needed at some point (unless new edition or can continue to get by with class notes only).
Re PLD, I don't know that the kids (2021 Sec 1) were asked to used the textbook digital version. Instead, I think many online lesson/notes were provided by teacher and SLS. Again, my guess is that you are probably OK without the digital version (if have used print copy) but also fine to just buy both now if want for simplicity / no running around later... -

Hi igal, we bought the the print and digital bundle for Y1 this year. (Not from this IP school) The students use the digital version in class so they donβt have to bring the textbook to school all the time. At home, they use the print copy to do homework. For those without the digital version, they can just bring their print copy. No issue.
May I check for the current Year 1 students, did they purchase the print and digital bundle for think! Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, please? I have hand-me-down books but the booklist states to purchase the print and digital bundles and there are no options to purchase the digital versions only.
Fyi, my kid is from another IP school, although I believe it will work the same way in most Schools.
Hope this helps! -

Thanks all for the inputs. πππ -
Ds is sec 1 this year, he never use the maths textbook, Mostly use teacher notes and worksheets. For science, it is also mainly notes, though they are told that they can read more details in the textbook at home.

Short answer: I'm not 100% sure.

My guess is take a bus from Botanic Garden (after arriving there via Circle Line).
While the walk from Circle Line to Downtown Line at Botanic Garden is not too bad, it still takes some time and you need to go up again at TKK MRT station. Once at TKK MRT, a lot of the boys will take a bus down from TKK to Opp NJC bus stop (I think the walk from Opp NCJ is a bit shorter than from it is from Chinese High bus stop). So if you can just get on the bus earlier it saves one step.
The caveat to the above is that the traffic on Bukit Timah Road could be bad in the morning, although maybe the buses can keep moving OK.
Hope someone else can clarify here. If not, just try both a few days and see what is preferred; I don't think it will be a big difference either way. -

I personally prefer the Botanic Gardens method out of habit (TKK station was built halfway into my time at HCI). The jam at Bukit Timah Road is pretty awful in the mornings; it has Nanyang Primary + the secondary schools to serve, but I think if there's a jam whether you board the bus at TKK or at Botacs it doesn't really matter, so my suggestion is if you're on the Downtown Line, just take to TKK station, else if you're on the Circle Line, take to Botacs.

I found out that if I reach the bus stop at Botacs by 7 I should be on time for school; later than 7 the traffic picks up, so probably the latest you have to be at the bus stop is around 7:05 to 7:10. Do note that while all the buses from TKK goes to the Opp Natl JC bus stop, not all the buses at Botacs go straight, so you'd need to pay attention (or just board with the crowd)
And yep! Usually I enter HS via Gate 3 (Opp Natl JC bus stop) because that's the side of where the classrooms are at. -
