Hi my son just went for interview end November and was successful in transferring. P3 next year.
Anyone transfer into acsj from other sch?? Would like to find out what questions will be ask during transfer sch interview? Many thanks.
They asked him:
- why is he transferring
- favourite and least favourite subjects in school
- what does he do in his free time (they got him to write down his answer)
They interviewed him alone without parents.
Just happened on your post sorry not sure whether you have already gone for it! -
Hi, thanks we already went for interview n my boy was successful to transfer into acsj too!! Pri 4 next year!!

I understand both ACSJ and ACSP boys can apply to ACSI via an internal AMR cut off. My son just got accepted into ACSI after PSLE, but we are not from affiliated ACSJ or ACSP. So in the future, as an alumni, will his son be able to apply for ACSJ, ACSP, or both primary schools?

Unfortunately no. To get into the respective primary school under Phase 2A (alumni), the parent must be from that particular primary school.

There are other schools (like MGS, SNGS) which fall under the “full school” scheme where alumni of the secondary school can also qualify for 2A. But ACS is not a “full school” for P1 registration purposes. -
Thanks ZacMum, so it’s similar to RGS primary to Secondary, same name but not affiliated for P1 registration. And what about if he was posted to ACS Barker (Secondary), would his kid in the future be able to enter p1 registration under ACS J or ACS P?

Also no, cos alumni of ACS Barker Road are also not eligible for phase 2A priority to the primary schools. It is not a “full school” despite being co-located with ACSP.

These 4 schools,
I understand both ACSJ and ACSP boys can apply to ACSI via an internal AMR cut off. My son just got accepted into ACSI after PSLE, but we are not from affiliated ACSJ or ACSP. So in the future, as an alumni, will his son be able to apply for ACSJ, ACSP, or both primary schools?
bear the same identical name, in both the primary and Secondary section.
But,
they are NOT affliated in any way, at all :-
1) Raffles Girls' (primary and Secondary)
2) Anderson (primary and Secondary
3) Cedar (primary and Secondary)
4) ACS Junior, ACS primary
and
ACS Barker Secondary.
So,
even though your son may graduate from O-level (ACS Barker Secondary) one day,
unfortunately,
your future grandson cannot be enrolled into neither (ACS primary nor ACS Junior) in future, because Not applicable under Phase 2A.
However, in contrast,
if your son were to enrol into Catholic High (Secondary), then Yes, your future grandson will qualify to enrol into Catholic High (primary) one day in future, under Phase 2A.
Why ?
Because
Catholic High is a \"Full\" school status.
But not ACS Barker Secondary.
For boys,
Catholic High is a Full school.
For girls,
only 3 Full schools exist in Singapore, out of Total more than over 100+ existing primary schools.
ie.
(MGS + SCGS + St Nick) primary
=======================
In other words,
if you want your future grandson to join under Phase 2A, can consider Transfering your son over, to Catholic High. -
To be considered under Alumni Phase2A, does he have to study all 6 years in the primary school? What if p1-3 is in ACSJ and after GEP, transferred to CathHigh for P4-6? Will he considered alumni of ACSJ or CHS, or both? (And so his kid will apply p1 to which school?)
